What Is Equilibrium?

When you're in the main menu of the game, you'll see your current Trailblaze Level and EXP needed to go to the next one. Many ways can help you level up much faster in the game:

  • The main story gives the most EXP out of all types of quests in the game. It's recommended to progress the story as far as you can, but you'll get stopped at certain times if your level is too low. Keep doing all the side quests in the game as well.
  • Daily Training unlocks after progressing to a certain part of the main story. Complete the tasks in this training every day to get a ton of EXP. Each reward you claim will give you a set amount of EXP.
  • You can spend your Trailblaze Power in many ways when it comes to Honkai: Star Rail. No matter where you spend it, you'll get the same amount of EXP for a certain amount of Power. Make sure you never reach full Trailblaze Power.

Once you've leveled up quite a lot, there will be times when the game won't allow you to go any further. This typically happens after levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 65. To start gaining levels again, you'll have to upgrade your Equilibrium level. Whenever you reach one of the mentioned levels, you'll get a new quest.

This quest will take you to a challenge where you'll have to defeat multiple difficult bosses. Upon defeating these bosses, your Equilibrium level will upgrade and your world will drastically change.

What Happens When You Upgrade Equilibrium Level?

Whenever you upgrade your Equilibrium level, you'll still see everything in the same location as before. The same enemies will still be roaming the lands and you can fight them whenever you want. Though some massive changes will occur:

  • The level of enemies in the open world and places where you can spend Trailblaze Power like Cavern of Chaos, Calyx, and Echo of War will increase. This doesn't affect the enemies in Forgotten Hall or Simulated Universe since their levels are already set.
  • Since you'll be fighting harder enemies, you'll also get extra rewards from both open-world battles and places where you spend your Trailblaze Power. This will not only increase the number of regular drops but also allow you to get higher rarity items.

Don't worry if you reach one of the cap levels and can't upgrade your Equilibrium level just yet.

It might show that your EXP is capped but you'll still get all of it whenever you upgrade the level.

Upgrading your Equilibrium level is a hard decision since you might not be able to fight anything in the world even if you manage to finish the challenge. It's recommended to build your main characters properly before you think about going for the upgrade, especially during the late game.
