There are plenty of reasons for Honkai: Star Rail to be as famous as it is, and one of them is the wide range of characters offered by the game. You can get some of these characters for free simply by progressing, but most of them are locked behind a gacha system, which can be pretty frustrating for some players.

How To Make A New Account

It seems like Hoyoverse has learned from their initial mistake in Genshin Impact where they allowed players to create as many guest accounts as they wanted to. This system would let you make as many reroll accounts as you want without any repercussions. Things became significantly harder when you had to use a verified email address.

If you want to make a new account in Honkai: Star Rail, you can do that through the "Log In" button on the game's starting screen or through Hoyolab itself. When you're on the screen to fill in your Login details, you can click on the "Register Now" button. This will take you to a screen where you'll have to fill in the following:

  • Email Address
  • Verification Code sent to your email address
  • Desired Password
  • Retype the desired password

After providing all the information, your Hoyoverse account will be created and you'll be able to start a new game on any server you want. Alternatively, you can also switch servers with the same account to start a new game since the progress isn't shared between different servers.

An extra step will be added if you're trying to create a new account through the Hoyolab website.

You'll have to click on the avatar on the top right of your screen before you can click on "Register Now".

How To Progress In The Rerolled Account

Once you've created a new account, the next question is how far you should go before you reroll again. This question doesn't have a singular answer, and it completely depends on what you want from a reroll and how much time you want to spend on each account. Based on that, the progression can be divided into three tiers:

Tier

Progress Required

Average Time Taken

Fastest Reroll

  • Start the game and pick your character. Go through the first few scenes where you're forced to fight enemies to progress.
  • At some point, you'll see enemies in your way but there won't be a yellow marker on them. You can avoid these enemies to make the run faster.
  • Talk to Himeko and Asta in the space center. Here, you'll be able to start summoning the characters, and you're guaranteed to get Asta in your first Warp.
  • Use the 20 Star Rail Passes that you'll get in your mail from the pre-registration rewards. This will give you up to two multis in the Departure Warp banner.
  • If you don't get your desired character(s) in these pulls, you can move on to the next account.

30 minutes

Medium-Paced Reroll

  • This tier of reroll goes a little farther than the previous tier. After pulling with your first 20 Warps, use the active codes in the game to get as many Jades as you can.
  • You can also claim all your achievements, get all the chests in the area, and go through the tutorials to get more jades.
  • Use the jades to pull on the limited banner, which will give you enough Embers to get another four Star Rail passes. These can be used for a third multi on the starter banner.

40 minutes

Slowest Reroll

  • After doing everything mentioned in the tiers above, continue the quest until you talk to Pom Pom and she gives you the level rewards. Try to claim all the chests and reach level ten in the game.
  • On level ten, you'll get two Star Rail passes from Pom Pom and ten of them from the Trailblazing Will event. Buy all five passes from the Embers shop as well.
  • You'll also be able to get one Star Rail pass from Operation Briefing Part 1, Internal Purchase Officer in Hertha Space Station, and Starlight Exchange in the store.
  • This brings your total Star Rail Passes up to 40, which guarantees a five-star character from the standard banner.

1 - 1.5 hour

Out of all the tiers, the medium tier is the best for casual reroll since it gives you the most value in the least amount of time.

Best Time To Reroll Accounts In Honkai: Star Rail

With the method mentioned above, you can pretty much reroll your Honkai: Star Rail account whenever you'd like. However, there are a few instances where you'd benefit a lot more from these rerolls:

  • The best time to reroll an account is during the next Version update live stream. You can get three codes for 100 Stellar Jades each during the stream and also get another 600 when the update launches. Moreover, there's an event that gives ten passes for the limited banner at the start of each update.
  • If you're already in the middle of an update, you can also try to reroll when a new main event gets released to the game. These events provide a ton of extra Jades, but you might have to progress through the main story quite a bit before you can take part in them.

Is It Worth Rerolling In Honkai: Star Rail?

Out of all the games out there, Honkai: Star Rail is one of the hardest when it comes to reroll. Not only does it take a lot of time, but it also gets quite repetitive and frustrating if you don't get lucky in the first couple of accounts. Although, as mentioned above, the characters you get at the start can significantly change your experience.

If you're a casual player who isn't interested in any specific character, it's probably not worth rerolling since you can still beat most of the game with almost any character in the correct setting. On the other hand, if you want to try your luck until you get specific characters like Himeko or Welt, you can try to re-roll.

At the end of the day, you should be doing what's more fun for you since it's all about your experience.
