Herta is a genius character in the game, and she wants to get to know more about the Aeons that possess great power in this world. Not only will you get information on the Aeons, but you'll also unlock various rewards every week including Stellar Jades.

Updated on January 08, 2024, by Sanyam Jain: Ever since the start of Honkai: Star Rail, Simulated Universe has been getting the most love from the developers with constant new worlds and game modes to unlock new paths, with the recent one being Gold And Gears for the Erudition Path.

How To Unlock Simulated Universe

Honkai Star Rail Herta Office Location

When you start playing Honkai: Star Rail for the first time, you'll play as Kafka and Silver Wolf for a little while until you wake the Trailblazer up. As you progress in the story, you'll eventually fight a Doomsday Beast with Himeko, March 7th, Dan Heng, and the main character. Herta will be introduced after defeating this beast.

Finish this dialogue with Herta and Himeko to get a message from the former on your phone. She'll ask you to come visit her in the office. You can find this location at the bottom left when you're in the Master Control Zone of Herta Space Station. Head over and talk to her to start the "Simulated Universe: First Closed Beta" quest.

Simulated Universe: Closed Beta Walkthrough

Honkai Star Rail Floating Antimatter Legion Enemy

As soon as you enter the Simulated Universe, Herta will ask you to go through a few instructions and tell you that your body is still in her office and that the universe is generated from your memories. Once the tutorial finishes, attack the floating Antimatter Legion enemies in the area and defeat them.

You'll only be able to use the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, and March 7th in the first closed beta test.

After defeating the enemies, you'll get a little dialogue with Qlipoth, the Aeon of Preservation. You can go through this dialogue and select the options that you want. In the end, you'll get your first blessing in this universe. Blessings have different rarities based on their color, and they give you many kinds of buffs.

Honkai Star Rail Three Connected Enemies

Select the blue blessing on this screen and continue in the universe to defeat the next wave of the Antimatter Legion. You can claim the golden blessing after the second fight. As you reach the third wave and start the battle, you'll notice something different. There will be three enemies in the world instead of one.

If more than one enemy is roaming around and they're connected by a golden ray, it means that you'll get multiple waves in battle.

The number of waves is determined by the enemies you can see. Since there are three enemies in this part, you'll have to fight three waves.

When you defeat these enemies, you'll be able to get three blessings at the same time. Enter the next room and defeat the final boss to get some dialogues from Fuli, the Aeon of Remembrance. You'll be taken out of the Simulated Universe after this. You can continue your main quest from here if you want.

Though there will also be a side quest that will refer to the second closed beta of the Simulated Universe. This beta essentially works the same way. You have to defeat all enemies to clear a floor, and you'll get a blessing after defeating each set of enemies. The only new features in this beta are:

  • There is a floor-based system. After defeating a few sets of enemies, you'll have to use a portal to go to the next floor. The third floor will be the one with the final boss.
  • On the first floor, you'll be able to get a Downloader. Use this to put Herta on your team, and make it a team of four. In a normal Simulated Universe, you can use this Downloader to change your team lineup.

How To Beat Simulated Universe

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe Main Screen

After finishing the closed beta, you'll have to progress quite a bit in the main story to unlock the actual universe. It'll unlock around the same time when the game asks you to reach level 14 to continue the story. When you get to Herta's office to start the universe, you'll see a screen with many new things.

The most important aspect of this menu is the multiple worlds in the middle. These worlds are essentially the levels of the Simulated Universe, and you need to clear a certain world to unlock the next one. Here's what the rest of the options on the screen mean:

Name

Description

Herta's Store

You can get Herta Bond from clearing a world for the first time or reaching a certain amount of score every week. These bonds can be used to buy items in the Herta Store.

Index

This area keeps a record of all the information you come across in the universe including Aeons, Blessings, and Curios. The first two are unlocked from the start, but you'll only unlock Curios after completing a few worlds.

Ability Tree

This option unlocks after a while, and it usually unlocks if you fail in the second world. You can use Ability Points to get extra abilities in this area. These abilities are permanently unlocked for your universe, unlike Blessings that are specific to each run.

Current Score

This area displays the number of points you currently have from playing the Simulated Universe. You'll get these points even if you aren't able to clear a world, and they reset every week. You can get tons of rewards for reaching certain thresholds from this.

Honkai Star Rail World Two Starting Screen

When you click on a certain world, you'll see the level and type of boss enemies you'll be facing. This area will also tell you the recommended level for the world and you can select your team here. You can also click on "Cached Character Data" to look at the current levels of your character's Light Cone and Traces.

Once you enter any world, you'll notice a few differences from the closed beta tests:

  • When you're on the screen to choose blessings, you'll see a new book symbol on the top right of some of them. This symbol means that you haven't chosen that blessing yet, and it can be documented in the index if you choose it.
  • There are two new rooms that won't have any enemies in them. One of the rooms will let you heal your characters and download new characters. The other one will have you interacting with a portal to get some perks.

Simulated Universe Rewards

Honkai Star Rail Periodic Point Rewards

Simulated Universe is one of the endgame contents in Honkai: Star Rail and it has three different ways to get rewards. Firstly, as mentioned above, you'll get a first-clearance reward for every world that includes Stellar Jades, Star Rail Passes, Trailblaze EXP, and many other rewards.

You can also head over to the Blessings section inside Index, and it'll give you 80 Jades every time you get a certain number of blessings in each category. Both of these are one-time rewards, and you can also get some weekly rewards from the score mentioned above. Here's everything you can get after reaching the maximum score every week:

  • Credits
  • Immersifiers
  • Stellar Jades
  • One Star Rail Pass
  • Lost Gold Fragments
  • One Herta Bond
  • One Tracks of Destiny

The number of Credits, Stellar Jades, and Lost Gold Fragments you can get depends on your Equilibrium level.

When you get to higher worlds and it's easier for you to get these points every week, it's going to be a regular supply of items. In the end, you also get some rewards from finishing the Simulated Universe quests in your quest inventory.

Honkai Star Rail Event Reward Screen Simulated Universe

If you enter the Simulated Universe after Version 1.1 update, you'll see a new area in the Index called Event. This section will give you 20 Stellar Jades every time you encounter a new Event, Deal, or Combat in the Occurrence, Transaction, or Encounter floors respectively. These rewards can only be claimed once for each event.

This gives you more of a reason to shy away from the Combat floors even though they're the easiest way to build up your Blessings and get Path Resonance. There are currently a total of 38 events in the Universe, giving you up to 760 Stellar Jades for getting them all. The hardest event to encounter is the one where you get all Blessings of your chosen path for free.

Guide To Each World In Simulated Universe

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe Cocolia Closeup

Here's what you can expect from every single World in the Simulated Universe:

World

Final Boss

Best Combat Types

Description

1

Blaze Out Of Space and Ice Out Of Space

Quantum

Both these final bosses are great at applying Fire DoT and Frozen on your teammates, but their low level makes the damage insignificant. You can easily clear this World as soon as your Simulated Universe is unlocked.

You'll only see the enemies from the Herta Space Station on this World.

2

Automaton Grizzly and Automaton Direwolf

Lightning and Ice

The two Automaton final bosses are the perfect combination as one of them focuses on AoE damage while the other one has a ton of single-target damage. Grizzly can also spawn explosive enemies that you have to defeat instantly.

3

Gepard

Lightning and Imaginary

The fight against Gepard isn't as frustrating overall, but there is one attack that can single-handedly lose you the battle. In the second and third phases, he can create a shield that negates a ton of damage for all enemies on the field.

4

Svarog

Lightning and Fire

Svarog can spawn different enemies in all three of his phases. The first one has mini robots, while the second one will feature two Automaton Direwolfs, and the third one will have you fight against a bunch of hands.

When a character is taken hostage by a hand, you can't heal or shield them. It's like you only have three characters in your party.

5

Kafka

Imaginary and Wind

Kafka is the only final boss in the last four Worlds who doesn't spawn any extra enemies. Although, she makes up for this by constantly applying the Dominated effect on multiple members of your team.

It's required to have a cleanser like Natasha or March 7th on the team if you want to have a chance at using your abilities.

6

Cocolia

Lightning and Quantum

Being the final boss of the Sixth World, Cocolia has everything combined in the fight. She can spawn extra enemies, get Bronya to help her get more turns, and constantly apply Frozen on multiple characters in your team.

7

Abundant Ebon Deer

Ice, Quantum, and Fire

The fight with the Abundant Ebon Deer in the main story and World Seven is very different. He features up to three phases where he constantly spawns different kinds of veins around himself.

These veins can heal him, stun your characters, and even give him an Ultimate that can one-shot most of your characters. It's highly recommended to have characters who can cleanse in this World.

8

Yanqing

Lightning, Wind, Imaginary

Yanqing has been a boss in the game for quite a while even before this world's release. His main gimmick is that he spawns four swords on the field and transfers all his weaknesses to these swords.

It's important to have characters with the three combat types mentioned for this fight since the swords are quite tanky by themselves, but they disappear if you break their weakness.

How To Beat Swarm Disaster

Honkai Star Rail Silver Wolf With True Sting Boss

After the Version 1.3 update, you can permanently take part in the Swarm Disaster mode of the Simulated Universe after beating the World Five at any difficulty. In this mode, you'll have to go through three planes every time you start a run, with an Elite boss battle at the end of the first two planes.

These Elite bosses can either be the Elite bosses in other worlds or even the final bosses. At the end of the third plane, you'll go against a new boss called True Sting. This boss is known for multiplying vigorously and applying Wind Shear constantly on your characters. It can be quite a difficult fight without a cleanser on your team.

Swarm Disaster also comes with a brand-new Path and a bunch of new Curios and Occurrence events.

Overall, you can easily get over 2,500 Jades from this game mode itself. You simply have to finish various tasks and unlock all the chapters in it.

Gold And Gears Guide

Honkai Star Rail Gold And Gears Picture With Enemy Argenti

During the Version 1.6 update, another game mode similar to the Swarm Disaster was released in the Simulated Universe. This time, you get to unlock the Erudition path after getting all the secrets in this mode. This game mode shares the same countdown and plane mechanics with the Swarm Disaster.

However, you can customize your own dice here. You can pick one of the six dice passives, and place six custom dice faces accordingly. This is an important part of the game mode since triggering the dice passive gives you a path boost, which is based on the path you select for combat.

Another thing you have to keep track of is the Cognition Value, since you need it to unlock various secrets.

Overall, finishing Gold And Gears can give you up to 4,000 Jades and the Erudition Path in the rest of the Simulated Universe.
