If you've been playing Honkai: Star Rail for some time, you're already aware of how easy it is to get four stars in the game. Every ten pull you do on any banner guarantees a four-star drop, though this could be a Light Cone instead of a character. Sushang is one of the four-star characters in the game.

She follows the path of The Hunt and deals Physical DMG. Even after being a four-star character, Sushang is considered one of the best DPS characters in the game because of her well-designed kit. Here's everything you need to know about her build.

Best Relics And Planar Ornaments For Sushang

Honkai Star Rail Sushang Relic Screen

You might not notice this during the early game, but Relics and Planar Ornaments are the main sources of the damage dealt by Sushang. You'll unlock Relics after progressing in the story for a bit, but Planar Ornaments are unlocked once you can fight in the third World of Simulated Universe.

Apart from having their respective stats that increase your character's capabilities, these items give an additional boost if you have four pieces of the same Relic set or two pieces of the same Ornament set. With that in mind, here are the best sets for Sushang in Honkai: Star Rail:

Type

Name

Reason For Synergy With Sushang

Relics

Champion Of Streetwise Boxing

One look at this Relic set and you'll realize why it's so good for Sushang. Apart from giving a ten percent Physical DMG boost, it also increases her ATK whenever she hits an enemy or gets hit herself.

The only problem with this Relic set is how hard it can be to acquire during the early game. You get a full set of four pieces from the Level rewards, but you have to farm Cavern of Corrosion if you want any more.

Musketeer Of Wild Wheat

On the other hand, the Musketeer of Wild Wheat is one of the easier Relics to acquire because you get a lot of free pieces from exploring and finishing quests. It gives you a boost of ATK, SPD, and Basic Attack DMG.

Since Sushang will be your main DPS in the team, you'll want her Basic Attack to deal as much DMG as possible. Moreover, the SPD buff can significantly help her because of her kit.

Thief Of Shooting Meteor

Apart from being a great damage dealer, Sushang also shines at breaking an enemy's Toughness bar if they're weak to the Physical type. This Relic set will increase her Break Effect by 32 percent and give her some free Energy.

Break Effect increases the damage on the attack where you break the enemy's Toughness bar completely. Furthermore, Thief of Shooting Meteor is another easy-to-acquire Relic.

Planar Ornaments

Inert Salsotto

This Ornament set can be farmed in World six, which might be quite hard to reach for beginners. It increases your Crit Rate by eight percent, and your Ultimate DMG by 15 percent if your Crit Rate is over 50 percent.

Ideally, you'd want to have around 60 percent Crit Rate on Sushang, which goes well with this set. Although, she doesn't have a follow-up attack so that part of the set is useless for her.

Talia: Kingdom Of Banditry

If your overall SPD is over 145, this Ornament set can give you up to 36 percent Break Effect. This can stack with the Thief set if you're using it on her. SPD is already a great stat to invest in for Sushang, and this set makes it even more worthwhile.

There are a total of six pieces that you can have on a character including Relics and Planar Ornaments. Out of all these pieces, the Head and Hands always have flat HP and ATK as the main stat. Here are the stats you should look for when it comes to other Relics:

Body

Crit Rate/DMG

Feet

ATK Percent (SPD if you're using the Talia Ornament set)

Planar Sphere

Physical DMG Bonus

Link Rope

ATK Percent

Your priority for sub-stats will always be Crit Rate and Crit DMG since they're the most useful stats for her. Apart from these two, you can also look for some ATK Percent, Break Effect, and SPD. Overall, you'd want to have a ton of ATK on her with around 60 and 140 Crit Rate and DMG.

Best Light Cones For Sushang

Honkai Star Rail Sushang Signature Light Cone Swordplay

You can only use The Hunt Light Cones on Sushang because the passive ability only triggers if Light Cone's path matches with the character. Here are the best choices you have for both early and late game:

Cruising In The Stellar Sea

The best part about this five-star Light Cone is that it can be acquired for free in the Herta Store. After grinding Simulated Universe enough, you can even get this Light Cone to Superimposition five. It gives Sushang eight percent Crit Rate by default.

Moreover, it can give her an extra eight percent against low-health enemies and also some ATK Percent boost after defeating an enemy. Overall, this Light Cone fits perfectly in her play style.

In The Night

This is a limited five-star Light Cone that can only be acquired when Seele is featured on the banners. It gives you a flat 18 percent Crit Rate and also increases your overall DMG based on your SPD over 100.

While this Light Cone is already great, it can fit perfectly if you're planning to use the Talia ornament set on Sushang.

River Flows In Spring

This Light Cone increases Sushang's SPD and DMG as far as she doesn't get attacked. She has a passive that reduces her chances of getting attacked at low HP, which fits perfectly with this Light Cone.

Swordplay

At Superimposition one, this Light Cone increases your ATK by eight percent every time you hit the same target. All the stacks disappear if you change your target at any point. You can get up to 40 percent ATK from this Light Cone.

The only problem is that it's essentially useless if you're fighting smaller enemies, but it's amazing against single-target boss fights.

Arrows

During the early game, you won't have many four-star or five-star Light Cones, and your Crit Rate will also be lacking. After wishing for a while, you can easily get Arrows to Superimposition five, which gives you 24 percent Crit Rate for the first three turns in battle.

Sushang Traces Overview And Priority

Honkai Star Rail Sushang Heavy Sword Expression

Sushang has a great set of five main Traces that allow her to repeatedly get extra turns and her passive abilities increase her damage while also giving her even more turns overall. Here's what her main Traces do:

Skill

Deals massive damage to a single enemy with a 33 percent chance to deal extra damage. If the enemy doesn't have a Toughness bar, this extra damage is guaranteed.

Ultimate

Releases a chicken attack that deals massive damage to a single target and gives Sushang an extra turn instantly. It's important to use this Ultimate before or just after her turn because you'll miss the extra turn if you trigger it while it's her turn.

Technique

Deals some Physical DMG to all enemies upon entering battle.

Talent

When any enemy has their Toughness bar broken, Sushang's SPD increases by a certain amount.

As you can see, her Traces give her a lot of DMG and SPD apart from giving her extra turns as well. When it comes to priority, it's recommended to upgrade her Skill followed by the Ultimate. After getting these two done, you can also upgrade her Talent to get a little extra speed, which is quite important for her.

Since she's a main DPS, you'll have to upgrade her Basic Attack as well. Though you can do this after everything else is done.

While not necessary, Sushang's Eidolons give her some massive buffs that can significantly increase her value.
