If you've been playing Honkai: Star Rail for a little while, you'll realize that you have to manage a lot of things at the same time. If you're a free-to-play or low-spending player, you have scarce EXP materials, Stellar Jades, and Trailblaze Power. It's necessary to think twice before spending these items.

If you play Genshin Impact, the Trailblaze Power is equivalent to Original Resin. If you don't use this energy correctly, you might set your account back by a lot. It's important to know how to manage your Trailblaze Power at different times of the game.

Updated on September 21, 2023, by Sanyam Jain: During the Version 1.3 update, Honkai: Star Rail saw a permanent increase in the maximum cap of Trailblazer Power with an introduction of Reserved Trailblaze Power as well. The article has been updated to reflect these changes.

Trailblaze Power Management In Early Game

Honkai Star Rail Trailblazer With Golden Calyx

After a little scene with Kafka at the start, you'll be able to access your map quite early. Whenever you open the map, you'll see a certain energy on the top right, which will show 240/240. It might be hard to look at this but you won't have any way of spending them until a little bit later.

When you use the Astral Express to get to Jarilo-VI, you'll find a golden Calyx near the Anchor Point where you land on the planet. The Calyx are special growth in Honkai: Star Rail's world where you can spend ten Trailblaze Power each time to get different items:

  • Golden Calyx let you farm character EXP materials, weapon EXP materials, and Credits.
  • On the other hand, Crimson Calyx unlocks further into the story at a higher Trailblaze Level. This type of Calyx lets you farm materials to improve the Traces of different characters.

During the early game, you have to ensure that you spend every bit of your Trailblaze Power to get these Calyx materials. Farm the Crimson Calyx when you need a particular material to upgrade a character's Traces, and spend the rest of them to get EXP materials. The game gives you a ton of Credits at the start, so they're low priority.

You can get an item called Fuel through different methods. It's recommended to save this item in the early game.

Fuel can be used to recharge 60 Trailblaze Power, which is very useful during the late game.

Trailblaze Power Management In Late Game

Relic Menu In Honkai: Star Rail.

Around the same time when you finish the story of Belobog, you'll unlock new mechanics like Echo of War and Cavern of Corrosion:

  • Echo of War opens a set amount of times every week, and it's necessary to spend your Trailblaze Power here whenever it unlocks. You can fight different bosses here to get special items.
  • Cavern of Corrosion features the Relic domains in Honkai: Star Rail. You might not want to spend too much Trailblaze Power here at the start. As your Equilibrium level increases, you'll get better Relics from these domains.

You can use your Fuel to farm the Cavern of Corrosion domains once you have guaranteed five-star Relics.

You'll also be spending some of your Trailblaze Power to farm for Credits during the late game, as that will become one of the sought-after currencies. With correct Trailblaze Power management, you can make your characters strong even as an F2P. Of course, you wouldn't need to farm any Credits if you buy the Battle Pass.

How Reserved Trailblaze Power Works

Honkai Star Rail Reserved Trailblaze Power Location

When you log in to the game after the Version 1.3 update, you'll be able to see a new kind of Power right beside your Trailblaze Power. This will show zero for now, but it starts building up once your Trailblaze Power reaches its maximum capacity. Unlike normal Trailblaze Power, you'll only get one Reserved Trailblaze Power every 18 minutes.

As you play Honkai: Star Rail every day, there might come a time when you burn out of the game and need a few days off. Reserved Trailblaze Power is perfect for these scenarios since it lets your Power build up even when you're capped. This secondary power itself has a limit of 2,400, but it takes a long time to reach it.

When you log back into the game, you can convert this Reserved Power into Trailblaze Power easily.

This process converts a maximum of 240 Power at a time so that you don't get stuck with a ton of Power.
