Focus Home dropped another look at the upcoming team-based stealth-action adventure, Hood: Outlaws & Legends. In a new video, the team at Sumo Newcastle highlighted all the challenges waiting for the players at one of the most difficult in-game fortresses, Caer Merthyr.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is set in a violent medieval world, inspired by a "dark version of Robin Hood," where rival gangs compete in intense PvPvE multiplayer heists. The game will offer four different classes for every taste, providing the players with plenty of unique tricks to complete the level quietly or loudly. Though it seems the project will not allow for easy riches, as the game’s maps are filled with enemy patrols, dead-ends, and exposed areas. Besides, all key elements of Hood change randomly each time you play, so the heists rarely play out according to plan.

Shortly after the recent gameplay overview trailer, the devs revealed a quick look at one of five maps available at launch. Players will find themselves in a wild coastal region, which is a highly guarded and dangerous place to wander about in. The Caer Merthyr map is divided into three points of interest including a fortress, a keep, and a small town. Players may ambush the patrolling Sheriff between the two heavily guarded structures, which can be ideal for a successful and quiet operation like the Thief or Assassin’s Creed series.

As the developers stated, each area in Hood will be very distinct, requiring a unique strategy to traverse and a thoughtful approach to escape with the hard-earned riches. Game director Andrew Willans recently revealed that the game has five launch maps, “with another added free for all players very soon after.” Moreover, judging from the new video, the game’s environments are pretty huge , so it will take some time for players to get accustomed the place and find all the paths to their target.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on May 10. Pre-orders grant an early access period starting on May 7.
