Horizon fans have long speculated that Aloy might be queer, given that she is a clone of Elisabet Sobek who was a lesbian, but often, on the subreddit, this theory was shut down. However, as per the new Burning Shores DLC in Forbidden West, those theories have been proven true.

"I want to be with you and I was hoping that you felt the same way," Seyka says to Aloy. You're then presented with three dialogue options, "Yes I do", "I'm not ready for this", and "This is too much for me". The first obviously embraces the romance and confirms that yes, Aloy is queer, but so do the other two. Picking those only confirms that she's not ready for a relationship, not that she isn't queer.
"And what if I do?" Aloy says when selecting the first dialogue option, to which Seyka responds, "I think I know how to handle it." The two kiss, then pull back, smile, and simply whisper, "Oh, yeah". This was shared on YouTube Shorts by GamingWithAbyss, and you can see the full clip below.
Already, plenty of fans are celebrating, ecstatic to see another PlayStation flagship character proudly open and comfortable in their queerness, but the excitement doesn't stop at their embrace. Earlier on in the DLC, there are plenty of examples of flirting between the two, and this was evident as far back as the trailer when we saw them grabbing each other's waists.
In a clip shared by @ladyddancing on Twitter, we see Aloy showing off by summoning her mechanical flying dinosaur before inviting Seyka to hop on. Seyka says it's a little snug, but Aloy doesn't care, shooting them off into the air as they hold each other.
However, while plenty are excited about this reveal, I wouldn't advise searching it up on Twitter unless you fancy souring the moment. As per usual, bigots are mad, and many are hijacking the conversation to decry that Sony is "woke" and that this is being shoved down their throats. I'm sure those same complaints were levied at Spider-Man for featuring a prominent romance with MJ and back-and-forth flirting with Black Cat, yeah?
At any rate, this is a huge moment for representation, as two of PlayStation's biggest games now star LGBTQ+ leading women, and it potentially teases a future in the Horizon series for further exploration of Aloy's romantic side. Maybe we'll dive deeper into her and Seyka's love for one another in the third game.
