Horizon Forbidden West players can do their bit for the environment later this week as Sony has announced it's collaborating with the Arbor Day Foundation, a charity that is working to replant forests. The publisher has committed to planting a tree for every player of Horizon Forbidden West who earns the "Reaching the Daunt" trophy in the game.These trees will be planted in three projects across the US. These include the reforestation of Douglas County Forest in Wisconsin, the Sheep Fire Private Lands in California, and Torreya State Park in Florida. Each of these areas has been devastated by deforestation or natural disasters, and the Arbor Day Foundation explains planting trees will help local wildlife to recover and thrive. If you want to learn more about the charity, you can visit its website here.For those that want to help out with the cause, you'll need to play Horizon Forbidden West and earn the trophy before March 25, or before Sony reaches its target of 288,000 trees. Seeing as though the game is currently one of this year's most anticipated titles, and that the first game just passed 20 million sales, it's very likely that Sony will meet its target before that deadline.
Although, there is currently no information about what the "Reaching the Daunt" trophy asks players to do. It would be pretty cruel to tie such a charitable collaboration behind a super hard trophy though, and the name of the trophy sounds like it'll be story-related in some way.
