This year’s Star Wars Celebration recently revealed the trailer for Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker. Now, it looks like it may have accidentally revealed another sequel as well.

Guerilla Games, the studio behind the Killzone series, as well as Horizon Zero Dawn, the hit open world, post-apocalyptic, robot dinosaur game (and with a description like that how could it not be a success?), has been radio silent on its next project. However, considering the success of Horizon, most fans have suspected a sequel was on the way.

It looks like those suspicions may be accurate if the words of actress Janina Gavankar are anything to go by.

Gavankar is the voice actress and motion capture artist for the character of Iden Versio from the single-player campaign of Star Wars Battlefront 2. She also appeared as Tatai in Horizon’s DLC campaign, The Frozen Wilds. She was at the Star Wars event due to her role in the Battlefront series, and during a livestream, she began chatting with a fan cosplaying as her Battlefront character. It was then and there that she said maybe just a little more than she should have.

In fact, regarding Horizon, her exact words were, “It’s incredible. Just wait ‘til you see the sequel, you’re gonna die. I know some secrets, you’re gonna die.”

Of course, the existence of Horizon Zero Dawn 2 was, itself, a secret up to this point. So maybe just don’t trust Janina Gavankar with your secrets.

Regardless, it’s not shocking that Guerilla Games is working on a sequel. Horizon Zero Dawn was a massive success, selling more than 10 million copies and winning plenty of awards, including a BAFTA. The announcement of a second installment in the series was going to happen sooner or later, but probably wasn’t supposed to happen at the Star Wars Celebration.

As for the game itself, this accidental leak is about the only real news acquired so far. Although, since Gavankar apparently knows so many secrets about the game, it’s probably safe to assume her character will play a sizeable role in the story. And, considering that this random outburst on a livestream is the first we’re truly hearing about it, it doesn’t seem super likely that Horizon 2 will appear on the PS4. As we’re seemingly barreling towards the announcement of new consoles, could Horizon Zero Dawn 2 wind up a launch title for the PlayStation 5?

E3 would have been a perfect chance to announce this game, but Sony said it wouldn’t be appearing due to a lack of new games to show. This could mean that Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is still in the very early stages of development, and may not be out for quite some time. Or, they’re saving the announcement to coincide with the PS5’s reveal.

For now, we’ll just have to wait for more details about Alloy’s next big adventure. Hopefully, Guerilla Games will find a way for her to fight even bigger and better robot dinosaurs, with an even pointier giant stick.
