Sony's open-world action-RPG Horizon: Zero Dawn just became available for pre-order on PC, and in the midst of a Steam Summer Sale, the game has risen to the top of the Best Sellers list almost instantly.

Selling at $49.99, Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition includes a variety of PC upgrades, such as ultra-wide screen functionality, unlocked framerates, and improved foliage. It also comes with all the DLC: The Frozen Wilds, a digital artbook, and the costumes. Despite the PS4 version running for $29.99 on the PlayStation Store, players have opted to go for the more expensive option on PC. With all the PC upgrades and options, this looks to be the definitive version of the game best enjoyed in glorious 4k, as shown below.

For PC players, this will be the first time they'll experience a big PlayStation exclusive in its full glory, and from what we've seen of the Best Sellers list, they were hungry for something like this. Other PlayStation exclusives, like God of War and Spider-Man have been available in the past for the streaming service PlayStation Now on PC, but depending on your connection, the experience can vary. Playing the game natively seems to be very attractive for the Steam audience, and we agree with Benji-Sales (who found this information) that Horizon: Zero Dawn will "sell huge" on PC.

This isn't the first PlayStation-published game to release on PC. Smaller titles like ReadySet Heroes, Helldivers, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture all made it to Steam or the Epic Game Store. In addition, the once PS4 exclusive Death Stranding by Kojima Productions will be published on PC by 505 Games for a full $59.99 on July 14th.

It will be interesting to see if Sony will publish more titles to the PC. If the news of Horizon hitting the Steam Best Sellers list is anything to go by, Sony could be releasing more first-party titles on there soon. This is also a great strategy to get PC gamers invested in Sony's franchises. With Horizon coming to PC, they could attract a new audience to the franchise and entice them to buy the PS5 exclusive sequel, Forbidden West; meaning more PS5 sales to accompany it. Meanwhile, pre-existing fans of Horizon will have a better version of the game to play that comes with improved graphics. It's a win-win for Sony.
