The upcoming horror game from Globiss Interactive and Rogue revealed a brand new trailer with gameplay that describes the main protagonist’s escape from a sinking ship. Resembling P.T., Under seems like it will feature plenty of scares that will give players that sinking feeling before fainting.

Under merges the fear of drowning with the fear of the paranormal as the game’s premise requires the player to not only escape from a sinking ship, but escape from a sinking ship that’s haunted. The trailer starts by passing through the corridors in first-person that periodically shows flashes of a Slenderman looking character that appears to be a wounded soldier. Designed as an FPS, the player will be able to wield a revolver as Under utilizes its claustrophobic setting that will no doubt have players losing their way within the labyrinth of corridors. The trailer also features trumpets blasting through a gramophone from a distance that will no doubt be featured in the game at some point to emphasis the game's references to war.

The gameplay firstly shows the loading icon which is a silver pocket watch before returning to the game's first-person narrative. The player walks the protagonist through the ship, reading notes and exploring the lavish decor before the water starts to flood every corridor. Matches can be used as a source of light as you work towards finding a way off the ship before you become fully submerged. The only music featured in the gameplay trailer is a rather comforting snippet of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing as you frantically dart in and out of bedrooms and stumble upon some psychologically disturbing images.

Gamers will play WW1 veteran Alexander Dockter that must fight for survival whilst onboard a sinking cruise ship. While you may get flashes of Titanic as you explore the grand vessel’s corridors, those happier images will soon disappear when horror waits around every corner. Players may also experience some Silent Hill vibes as your main enemy will be a creature that relentlessly stalks Alexander while he remains on the ship. No doubt there will also be many other scares and mentally draining circumstances to make escaping that much more difficult.

Under has been compared to the 2014 psychological horror P.T. from Kojima Productions, also designed in the first-person in collaboration with Guillermo Del Toro. Publisher Rogue has yet to release an exact release date but it has confirmed that Under will be coming to PC, Switch, Xbox and PS4 some time this year.
