Zaxby’s is now the exclusive quick-service restaurant of the Houston Outlaws.

Does this mean that the Houston Outlaws are no longer able to eat food at other quick-service restaurants? Or does this mean that the Houston Outlaws will now have a Zaxby’s installed at their headquarters in Houston?

More likely it just means that no other quick-service restaurants will be allowed the privilege of sponsoring the Houston Outlaws. Other corporations are free to reach out to further fund the Overwatch League team, but other restaurant chains such as Whataburger or Chipotle will have to sponsor someone else.

In case you live in the northern states, Zaxby's is a Georgia-based casual dining restaurant chain that specializes in spicy wings, chicken fingers, and fried chicken sandwiches. Think of it like Chick-fil-A but without the homophobia.

“This is one of Zaxby’s first esports partnerships, and we couldn’t have picked a better partner than the Houston Outlaws,” said Zaxby’s CMO Joel Bulger. “Our brand is passionate about friends, family, and flavor, and we can’t wait to share and create memorable experiences with the Outlaws community.”

We’re not sure just what those experiences will be as the Overwatch League has gone completely online-only since April 1st. One suspects this partnership was planned during a time when casual dining was still a possibility in most places. Hopefully, that changes after the current Overwatch season ends.
