Sonic Frontiers offers more exploration than any other game in the series to date. It can be easy to get lost in the Starfall Islands, and players will want to check around every corner for hidden collectibles. What's more, the game's lightning-fast Portal Stages and minigames can take several tries to complete every challenge.

You don't have to find every possible collectible in the game if you just want to finish the story in Sonic Frontiers - far from it, in fact! By only fighting the minimum required number of Guardians and obtaining just enough Vault Keys to unlock the Chaos Emeralds on each Island, you should be able to complete the game in about fifteen hours, according to HowLongToBeat.

It's possible to complete the game without finishing Challenge puzzles across the islands, but doing so prevents the map from being uncovered. If you get lost frequently because of this, it could substantially add to your overall time.

Completing every goal in every Portal Stage, visiting all the fishing spots, defeating every Guardian at least once, viewing all the side stories, and solving every Challenge will put your total playtime at just over twenty hours when all is said and done.

If you're going for Achievements or Trophies, you'll need to dedicate extra time to maxing out all of Sonic's stats. This can take a very long time since progression is slow, especially when leveling up Speed and Ring Capacity with Elder Koco. Grinding out these last few accolades for Platinum can bring your total playtime into the twenty-five to thirty hour range.

You can double-dip for the Hearty Hedgehog and Hypersonic Hedgehog accolades by using the game's mechanics to your advantage.

As you gather Koco and bring them to the Elder, put all of your points into a single stat, Speed or Ring Capacity. Once that stat is maxed out and the Achievement or Trophy appears, visit Hermit Koco and transfer all of those points to the other stat. WHen it's maxed out, the other accolade will pop!
