Pokemon is working up to the Crown Tundra DLC with a gaggle of hat-wearing Pikachu. Crown Tundra was recently announced to have an October release date, making it sooner than many might have predicted. As players wait to explore this new land, they can claim a new set of weekly Mystery Gift Pokemon – eight Pikachu wearing Ash Ketchum's various hats. The latest Pikachu is the one wearing the third generation Hoenn cap.
This special Pikachu can only be claimed in Pokemon Sword & Shield using the Mystery Gift function. This requires your Nintendo Switch to have an active internet connection. Open up your Sword & Shield game and find the Mystery Gift button on the pause menu. From there, hit "Get a Mystery Gift" then "Get with Code/Password."
The game should prompt you to enter a code, which for Hoenn Cap Pikachu is P1KAADVANCE. While you're at it, you can also claim the previous two Pikachu. These two are wearing Ash's original hat and the one from the reboot movie. Their codes are P1KACHUGET for original Pikachu and 1CH00SEY0U for reboot Pikachu.
You don't have to rush, but these Pikachu are only around until November 30, 2020. A new hat Pikachu is going to be added every week until the end of October. The Crown Tundra DLC for Sword & Shield releases on October 22.
