Hyper Scape players have a lot to look forward to this month, as Ubisoft has announced that season 2 will begin on October 6. Titled, "The Aftermath," you'll be able to get your hands on new weapons, hacks, and even a new game mode and Battle Pass, along with a bunch more undisclosed content.

Before kicking off the new season, though, Ubisoft is holding an event on October 4 from 6pm to 7pm BST. The event – Project Tower – revolves around the various glitches seen in the streets of Neo Arcadia. These have been "…hinting at something out of control in Hyper Scape," and now it's time to figure out what's been going on.

Once season two officially kicks off on October 6, you'll be treated to a whole new district to explore and a powerful new weapon, the Atrax. This gun shoots out sticky explosives that will detonate after a set period of time passes by. There's also a limited-time hack that will make an appearance in the middle of the season, which will give you the ability to create a horizontal platform to aid you in navigating vertical spaces.

Two new modes – Crown Rush Duo and Floor is Lava – are hoping to provide a nice change of pace, and three fan-favorite modes from the past will also be added – Crown Rush, Faction War, and Turbo Mode. More details on these will be given at a later date.

One of the best aspects of season two is the new ranking system. Ranks will be determined based on your ten best matches, but only matches played in Crown Rush Squad will be counted towards your skill. After ten matches, you'll be thrown into one of the following brackets:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Champion

In other news, Hyper Scape has partnered with Dark Horse Comics to create the second issue of the Hyper Scape comic. The comic, Hyper Scape #1 The First Principle Part 2, is available for free on the official Hyper Scape website. It's a brief ten-page comic, and there will be ten more like it releasing in the future.

Hyper Scape season 2 begins on October 6.
