If you were dying for more Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity content, Nintendo has got you covered. As revealed by the Japanese Nintendo Twitter account (before the US Direct caught up), the disastrous adventures of Link and the Champions will be getting an expansion in the near future.

Releasing in two waves over the next year, this DLC will contain exactly what you'd expect. New weapons, new characters, new costumes, new skills, and new stages. It doesn't sound as insanely packed as the season pass for the first Hyrule Warriors title, but there's not really much else you can add to Age of Calamity. The game was stuffed from the get-go. I'm not even sure what else you could possibly add here.

When it is made available for pre-order on the eShop, the pass will be going for $19.99 and you'll get some early adopter bonuses on May 28, 2020. These include new weapons for Link, but it's not specified exactly what they are. As for the other parts, Wave 1 will release in June while Wave 2 is scheduled for November 2021.

Essentially, we know there are characters, new story vignettes, and some extra challenges. It's maybe not the best reason to pre-order something, especially since we know so little. You'll have to use your own judgment here, but I do enjoy the base game a lot. It could absolutely do with an FPS toggle to lower the resolution for better performance, but the combat is excellent. If the new characters look exciting, I'd definitely consider grabbing this DLC.
