In five, four, three, two, don’t say one! Fans that know this line will recognize it from Freddie Benson, the technical producer on the web show iCarly. It is the first thing you hear when the opening credits start up while tuning in to the show iCarly. Starring Miranda Cosgrove, already famous for Drake & Josh, she stars as the titular character Carly, who would end up creating a web show with her best friend Sam. Ever since the pilot episode, iCarly has garnered a fanbase like you wouldn’t believe. The characters, plot, and writing make the show a success, and thanks to them, we were glad to catch a new episode every now and then until its series finale, “iGoodbye.”

The show lasted for five years and spanned seven seasons, starring four characters until season four where Noah Munck, who portrayed Gibby, became part of the main cast. There were a lot of memorable moments on iCarly that made us laugh, cry, and smile. The cast grew up alongside the show, and we were able to see them age as their characters aged. It was a magical moment that we were fortunate enough to watch as new episodes arrived on the air, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

It is hard to even believe how much they have grown throughout the years! We will be taking a look at the lovely cast who appeared on iCarly and discover where their paths took them after the show ended.

20 The One That Got Away

You will be seeing a trend of actors who appeared on iCarly but have starred in other shows from Nickelodeon. First up is Austin Butler, who appeared in the first season. He played a cute guy named Jake Crandall, who Carly had a huge attraction for after he broke up with his girlfriend (unfortunately, he got back together with the ex, poor Carly). When he was invited by Carly to appear on the web show, he wanted to sing for his grandmother. However, his singing was bad, so after a failed mishap of getting him stuck in the elevator, Freddie autotuned his voice so Jake wouldn’t be embarrassed in front of thousands of people, much to Freddie’s dismay.

Austin has appeared in a number of Nickelodeon shows, such as Zoey 101, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, and Drake & Josh. After his time on Nickelodeon, he would eventually star in the movie Aliens in the Attic and appear on The CW and ABC’s Freeform. He is currently engaged to Vanessa Hudgens, who also appeared in an episode of Drake & Josh, but that was not how they met. This handsome man has an incredible charm and fantastic talent that no one can deny.

19 Soulful Musician

via: icarly.wikia.com, zimbio.com

This musically-inclined young man’s appearance on iCarly would later land him a main role in the show Victorious, which was also created by Dan Schneider. Leon Thomas III has a strong passion for music, and if you have seen him play the piano or hear him sing, then you know how insanely gifted he is in music. Appearing in the episode “iCarly Saves TV,” he plays Harper, an actor who worked at the fictional TVS station when Carly’s web show was going to become a television show. After some crazy shenanigans that occurred behind the scenes, Harper would eventually quit but get a chance to perform on iCarly by singing and playing the guitar.

Leon would later appear on Victorious, playing Andre Harris who is surprisingly similar to Harper. However, they are not the same person, and there were a lot of questions that were asked since Leon appeared in both iCarly and Victorious playing the same character pretty much. After Victorious was canceled, he has been working in the music industry, producing, writing songs, and making music. He would later collaborate with Victorious co-star Ariana Grande with helping out on her critically acclaimed album, Yours Truly. His love for music will keep him going for sure!

18 CFC Champion

Well, look what we have here, another star from Victorious! Victoria Justice goes way back when it comes to acting, but we’ll get to that in a bit. She appeared as Shelby Marx in the episode “iFight Shelby Marx” and her character does not mess around. She was not necessarily an antagonist but was rather manipulated by the recurring enemy character, Nevel Papperman. Shelby is nice when she needs to be, but has a short temper, so we know why she decided to become an MMA fighter…

Victoria is one of the few actors who has collaborated with Dan Schneider a bunch of times.

Before she made a name for herself on Nickelodeon, Victoria appeared on Disney Channel in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. A few years later, she would appear in the main cast of Zoey 101, playing Lola Martinez, who desires to become an actress. Later in 2010, she would finally be the main star playing Tori Vega on Victorious. From the show, we got to see her do amazing choreography while having a beautiful singing voice. In 2016, she has appeared in The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again and she is not showing any signs of stopping.

17 Living It Big Time

via: icarly.wikia.com, celebritywoods.com

This fine young man was just getting started in acting. James Maslow was a name that Nickelodeon fans will recognize once his show, Big Time Rush, and band of the same name, arrived. Appearing in the first episode of the second season, “iSaw Him First,” he plays Shane, an attractive nerd who Carly and Sam fall for. He was pretty much the centerpiece of the episode since the two would girls would go to different lengths to try to get Shane to kiss one of them first since they both saw him first.

Luckily for James, it was just getting started for him in his acting career.

A year later after the episode he appeared in was released, the show Big Time Rush would premiere and help James and his other band members gain the big spotlight. The show would last for four seasons and the band would be making it to the music charts like you wouldn’t believe for a group that was originally from a kids’ channel. After Big Time Rush ended, the band itself sadly did so too, but James managed to do other awesome projects, such as doing music covers on YouTube as well as appearing in Dancing with the Stars.

Even though his band is no longer active, James is still living it big time.

16 The Biggest Fan Ever

via: icarly.wikia.com, taddlr.com

Even when a character appears in a small number of episodes on iCarly, they managed to make themselves memorable due to their line delivery, character, and impact on the episode. Mandy, portrayed by Aria Wallace, was certainly memorable for being the proclaimed biggest fan of the web show. She represents fans who are very dedicated to those they look up to, almost to the point where it can be annoying. Thankfully, despite being rather annoying, she has only appeared in two episodes. However, she has made an impact despite not appearing in a lot of episodes.

Aria is absolutely nothing like the crazy and obsessed Mandy. She seems really sweet and other than acting, she is also a singer. Before appearing on iCarly, Aria has appeared in a number of shows such as The Bernie Mac Show, That 70’s Show, and the Roxy Hunter movies. Right now, Aria is mainly focusing on making music and it seems like a good path for her. If you are a fan of country music, check her out! Whether she impresses you or not, Aria seems like a nice girl who has an interesting charm and would do her best in anything she does.

15 Psycho Chick

via: icarly.wikia.com, imdb.com

Mandy wasn’t the only crazy character on iCarly. She was nothing compared to this character. Nora Dershlit claimed that she was lonely and that no one would appear at her sixteenth birthday, but when the iCarly gang offered to cheer her up, it was too good to be true. Nora is a psycho and she embellishes that trait greatly. “iPsycho” was an intense episode to get through mostly for the buildup of how Carly, Sam, and Freddie would escape. Thanks to Gibby, we got a hilariously epic climax that made us cheer for him.

Nora’s actress Danielle Morrow captured the masquerade of being a lonely but secretly psychotic and demented girl brilliantly. Because of her iconic performance, she would return in the one hour special “iStill Psycho.” Danielle would also appear on Sam & Cat and Henry Danger, two shows also created by Dan Schneider. To this day, she is still doing acting, with a short film, Kenny, currently in post-production and scheduled to be released in 2019. Want to know something else interesting? Danielle is actually married to someone on this list. Can you guess who? If you haven’t figured it out yet, you will see him soon.

14 Somehow Still Going Strong

via: icarly.wikia.com, famousfix.com

How on earth did iCarly manage to create unforgettable minor characters? Is it their quirks that make them stand out? If that is the case, then right now, we are giving this entry to Jeremy, who is known as Germy on the show due to coughing and sneezing nonstop ever since the third grade. We even wonder how many times he got people sick due to his constant sickness? Germy was a recurring character in the first season that appeared in three episodes.

His first appearance was in the episode “iNevel” and his last appearance was in “iDon’t Want to Fight.” Despite being a minor character who never appeared again, his portrayal by Nathan Pearson was hilarious and cringe-worthy, but the latter is intended for comedic sake. Perhaps it was intentional for his character not to return since he gets sick so much that he has to be quarantined. Nathan has acted in different shows such as Miss Guided, Criminal Minds, and Eastbound & Down. Other than that, unfortunately, there have been no traces of him in the acting industry.

Whatever he is doing right now, we hope that he will be able to find success in that area someday.

13 What A Ripoff

via: icarly.wikia.com, vimeo.com

The last of the minor characters, this one is unique for his character trait. Rip-off Rodney appeared in only two episodes, but one of them was where he played a crucial part, especially concerning Carly and Sam’s friendship. He first appeared in “iDon’t Want to Fight” where he sees stuff at unfair prices. He can get anything he wants, which ranges from food to concert tickets. Sam wanted to give Carly tickets to see her favorite band Cuddlefish live, so she went to Rip-off Rodney. He made a deal to where if he could have the shirt Sam was wearing, which was a gift from Carly to contribute to their friendship anniversary, he would give her the tickets. Sam had good intentions to make Carly happy, but she gave away the shirt.

Talk about having an impact on one of the most iconic friendships from Nickelodeon.

After his last appearance in “iDetention,” Rodney’s actor Christopher David would continue acting, though he is not well-known. He made an appearance in the last episode of Zoey 101, so it wasn’t the first time he worked with the show’s creator. Christopher has also written and starred in a movie titled Youngsville, which is currently in post-production, so it will be interesting to see where he’ll go.

12 Lovable Principal

via: timrusstribute.com, startrek.com

There are times when TV-based adults who work in schools and other occupations can be too moralistic. iCarly does have them, but they are written with a comedic twist. That is where Principal Ted Franklin comes in and he manages to be a likable and cool recurring character. In fact, he is the first character to appear in the series. He does his job well and is respected by the school, except for a couple of teachers, and is just a cool guy. Where can you get a man who is serious, but has a silly side, especially when he asked Carly and Sam to appear on a webcast to tell his daughter happy birthday?

His actor, Tim Russ, has appeared in a very beloved sci-fi franchise.

Before becoming the cool yet strict principal, Tim has acted in other TV shows. Most notably, he portrayed Lieutenant Commander Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager. It just sounds too cool for an actor that appeared on Star Trek to be a recurring character on iCarly. Tim has done other things too, such as voice acting, directing, and even made music. He certainly has a variety of talents and it shows since he has been doing all of them for a few decades. Keep it up, Tim!

11 Strict Teacher

Appearing in the first episode, Ms. Briggs can be considered as the first minor antagonist in the series. She gets Carly to film the auditions for the talent show, and when Carly shows her the list of kids that should be in the show, Ms. Briggs scoffs and ignores it. Ms. Briggs has some… interesting hobbies and likes. When Carly and Freddie sneak into her house to see what teachers do outside of work in the episode “iSpy a Mean Teacher,” they found out the creepy fact that Ms. Briggs has tons of Randy Jackson memorabilia.

Her actress Mindy Sterling has been in the acting industry for a very long time. She might have done other works where you heard her voice, such as Chowder and even The Legend of Korra. She is even a member of The Groundlings, a comedy troupe. You might also have seen her as the villainess Frau Farbissina from the Austin Power movies. Mindy is even a cancer survivor and has been cancer-free ever since 1998.

To this day, she is still doing her own thing working on other film projects and doing voice work. She certainly has made us laugh thanks to her amazing portrayal as Ms. Briggs.

10 Insane Doorman

via: icarly.wikia.com, twitter.com/jeremy_rowley

Imagine this: coming home from school after a long, stressful day. When you enter your apartment complex, you are greeted with a complaint from the doorman, telling you that you opened the door too loudly. Lewbert Sline is the crazy doorman who would even not hesitate to make kids cry. Because of his mean and awful personality towards others, Carly and Sam created a segment on the web show called “Messin’ with Lewbert.” His backstory is also interesting since he used to be a model, but when you look at him, you can tell what ruined that opportunity.

Remember Nora? Her actress is actually married to Lewbert’s actor Jeremy Rowley!

Jeremy used to work in a comedy troupe called The Groundlings, which also coincidentally includes Ms. Briggs’ actress Mindy Sterling. He is also a frequent collaborator with Dan Schneider’s company called Schneider’s Bakery. Due to this, Jeremy has appeared in shows like The Amanda Show, All That!, and Drake & Josh. He and his wife Danielle also used to do sketch comedies and radio work, so their relationship has been way back even before they worked on iCarly.

Talk about irony about his appearance too. Unlike Lewbert, Jeremy is handsome and seems like a kind gentleman.

9 Website Rival

via: icarly.wikia.com, twitter.com/reedalexander

Appearances can be deceiving, especially when the person turns out to be younger than you’d expect. Nevel Papperman is a well-refined web critic and Carly comes by to visit him only to realize he was eleven at the time. Due to having major success from his website Nevelocity.com, Nevel is very egotistical and arrogant with high intelligence and being extremely cultured. After Carly refuses to kiss him and stuffing his face with some tapenade, he goes so far as to hack iCarly.com. Other times he would try to make the iCarly gang rue the day, but instead, he would rue the day.

Reed Alexander captured Nevel’s character so well that we thought that the voice he provided was a part of the role. It actually turns out it wasn’t the case and it was his real voice. His other roles excluding iCarly include Will & Grace, Out of Jimmy’s Head, and he also made an appearance in the Victorious/iCarly spin-off Sam & Cat. Reed is also involved with philanthropy work, such as helping out the Orangewood Children's Foundation charity and hosting the 56th Annual Nicholas R. Chiera Dinner/Auction. For someone who played a villain who is full of himself, it is amazing at how much kindness Reed has given to those who are in need.

8 Overprotective At Best

via: icarly.wikia.com, strawberryfestival.org

Marissa Benson is a soccer mom who would make sure her son’s safety is taken care of. She goes to crazy lengths such as giving Freddie tick baths and even being pregnant with Freddie for eleven months. Due to her insane personality, she acts as an anti-hero, but her motherly instincts are sincere and caring as seen when taking care of Lewbert in “iHurt Lewbert.” Most of the time she can be annoying, but the humor that comes out of the character is no joke. Despite her being overprotective, she is very proud of her son Freddie but would get cautious around both Sam and Carly.

Portrayed by Mary Scheer, she knows how to capitalize the overprotectiveness of Mrs. Benson’s character, exaggerating her reactions when Freddie does something she considers dangerous. Mary’s acting roles have been mostly minor, but she was one of the original cast members on MADtv. She also appeared in different kids shows such as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, and Good Luck Charlie.

She even used to work with comedy legend Will Ferrell. Scheer must have had one heck of a time working with him. The next time we see her on TV, our minds will definitely trace back to her time as Mrs. Benson.

7 Keeping The Groovy Smoothie Fresh

via: icarly.wikia.com, twitter.com/YaBoyBooGie

The Groovy Smoothie is the one place the iCarly gang would keep mentioning in the earlier seasons, but then it would get its own place as we have seen in the later episodes. It looks like a cool restaurant where amazing smoothies are made and, strangely enough, some random foods on a stick. One of the managers from Groovy Smoothie is a random but likable guy named T-Bo. You just know that he’s an interesting character with a name like that. For being a recurring character later on in the show, he managed to have funny lines and great comedic timing.

BooG!e, also known as Bobby Bowman, manages to make us laugh thanks to his quirks his character brings. Before appearing on iCarly, he appeared as a substitute host of The Wade Robson Project. He even appeared in the second Step Up movie, acting as a DJ. And who would have thought that in “iParty with Victorious,” he was actually the person in the panda suit?! It was one of the biggest mysteries in that special.

His performance as T-Bo was incredibly hilarious and we honestly wouldn’t mind buying one of the foods on a stick. We just wonder how he was able to put tacos on a stick in "iGot a Hot Room."

6 Showing Up Once In A While

via: justjared.com, zimbio.com

This little guy appeared out of nowhere, but we were happy to have him on board! Guppy is the younger brother of Gibby and just like him, he can be so random at times to the point where it doesn’t make sense, along with taking his shirt off and being confused. Saying “happy birthday” at different times was certainly strange but oddly charming. Plus, who could ever forget him reading a book that parodies a certain “romantic” series?

Ethan Munck is the younger brother of Noah Munck, so whenever they are on screen together, we sense some amazing sibling bonding even though they are playing their characters. It is also amazing how much he has grown over the years while iCarly was still airing. He will be fifteen in 2018 and it is crazy just thinking of how one can look back on the time they worked on a successful show. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation of what he is doing, but it is possible he is focusing on high school and whatnot.

He has a Twitter, but it is monitored by his mother and hasn’t been active in years. So now that we have talked about one brother, let’s head to the next one!

5 Random, But Memorable

Whenever you see this guy open your door, you can expect him to say, “Gibby.” First off, his real name is actually Orenthal Cornelius Hayes Gibson, but we’ll just keep calling him Gibby since it is the name we identify him with. Known to randomly take his shirt off for no reason, Gibby is one of the most bizarre characters on the show, and yet, we are glad that he is. He has some outstanding moments and even before he was a part of the main cast, he had an episode called “iWin a Date” where he really wanted to go on a date with a girl he had a crush on.

Noah Munck is a genius when playing this character.

Before and during his time on iCarly, Noah’s appeared on a variety of sets including Wizards of Waverly Place, the TruGreen commercials, and The Rainbow Tribe. What would have been an amazing opportunity for him and his character, unfortunately, did not get picked up by Nickelodeon. After iCarly ended, two spin-offs were created from two iCarly characters, and Noah’s Gibby was one of them (the other is Sam Puckett).

Sadly, the spin-off around Gibby was canceled before it could even air, and it was a shame indeed, but Noah is still doing well.

4 The Crazy Artist

via: icarly.wikia.com, zimbio.com

Now, it has been said that a lot of the characters on this list made us laugh, but Spencer Shay is the one that made us laugh the most. Despite being twenty-six when the show started, he has acted rather childish, but whenever he needs to be, Spencer is incredibly responsible and can act like a strong parental figure. His artwork is also impeccable, creating sculptures that make us look on in wonder. Spencer is a perfect example of a carefree grown-up who doesn’t have to be all strict and boring most of the time.

Jerry Trainor’s portrayal helps bring Spencer to life thanks to his comedic talent.

If you are a hardcore fan of Nickelodeon, you may have seen Jerry appear on Drake & Josh as Crazy Steve. His other credits include T.U.F.F. Puppy, Wendell & Vinnie, and Best Player. His roles just show how much comedic talent he has while also having a serious side to some things. Jerry also has a list of his favorite episodes and they include: iDream of Dance, iDate a Bad Boy, iGot a Hot Room, iGet Pranky, and iStart a Fan War.

Jerry also contributed to directing two episodes of iCarly. We hope to see more of Jerry’s hilarious acting in the future.

3 Starting A New Chapter

via: fanpop.com, justjaredjr.com

Now we are at the first of the trio! Freddie Benson is the cute nerd who would later grow up to be very attractive. Carly eventually realized that years after rejecting his feelings and Sam also grew on him. As the technical producer, Freddie is responsible for making the web show the way it is with lively special effects and so much more. Even when the show ended, Freddie would make an appearance again in Sam & Cat, which brings us back to the good days of iCarly.

Speaking of iCarly ending, Freddie’s actor went through a lot of wonderful events.

Nathan Kress has done some acting, but he also debuted as a director in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger. He worked on other TV shows and movies, adding more to his career. But the most important part was when he got together with Into the Storm costar London Elise Moore. They got married and in December 2017, their daughter was born.

Is anyone getting teary-eyed about Nathan becoming a dad? That really shows how much he has grown ever since the first episode of iCarly. Not only did he become a dad, but Nathan is also rocking it as a director and actor.

2 Tough, Yet Beautiful

via: icarly.wikia.com, celebmafia.com

Sam Puckett is a unique sidekick for a show like iCarly. She is tough, aggressive, and not afraid to back down. At the same time, she has an intense love for food that it makes us wonder how she has not gained so much weight. Regardless, Sam is the tough chick that developed over time in the five years the show ran. She has funny lines but also some where we feel so awful for her. So, a spin-off with Victorious’s Cat Valentine was a strange but cute idea. It shows us how much Sam has changed throughout the years from the show she appeared in.

Jennette McCurdy is a talented actress who has an interesting comedic touch. Like with many of the stars on iCarly, Jennette has appeared in a show created by Dan Schneider, such as being on Zoey 101. She also has a music career, and despite not being very successful, she has a beautiful singing voice.

Jennette eventually went through some harmful events, such as her mother passing away from cancer and having a little incident that has to do with photos being leaked. However, she passed through that and is still acting to this day. Keep it up, Jennette!

1 Leave It All To Her

via: icarly.wikia.com, listal.com

Wake up, members of the nation! We have the main star of the show right here. Carly Shay was just a normal girl who never expected to become famous alongside her best friend Sam. They are completely opposite, with Sam being tough and Carly being gentle. Carly is a great representation of teenage girls who is very kind but can have her limits when pushed too far. She would be the balance for Sam and Freddie whenever they get into silly arguments and would also do anything she could for her friends.

Miranda Cosgrove never fails to make us laugh and smile.

We all know her as Megan in Drake & Josh, but that wasn’t the only time she has appeared in a work by Dan Schneider. She appeared on an episode of Zoey 101 and guest starred in Big Time Rush. Her success was also just beginning since she is the voice of Margo in the Despicable Me series. Other than acting, Miranda has gotten around to doing some singing and even sang the opening theme and in an episode of the show.

It is hard to believe that she was in the single digits when working on Nickelodeon and Miranda will be the one name people will associate with Nickelodeon.
