Where To Get Fur and Leather

Icarus

Fur and leather both come from mammals that spawn in the world. Let's take a look at these materials below.

Fur

Fur can be gathered from animals that have a layer of long hair, such as bears, wolves, and rabbits. Bears and wolves are quite dangerous; if you don't feel confident killing these large animals, stick to rabbits.

The larger the animal is, the more fur it will give. This means that if you stick with killing rabbits, you will need to skin more than if you were to take down a single bear.

One of the most important items that you will make with fur is the bedroll. With a bedroll, you are able to set a respawn point in case you die, as well as sleep through the night.

As you enter the Arctic Biome, you will also need fur armor to keep you warm.

Leather

Leather is a bit more prevalent in the world. You will be able to harvest leather off of every mammal. This means that certain animals, such as the wolf, will be able to provide both leather and fur.

Leather is an important material for the oxidizer, as well as several armor types. Additionally, leather is used to craft several weapons.

That's all there is to know about gathering fur and leather. Overall, you will need to hunt to gather these materials. Don't forget to unlock bows and arrows on the technology tree so you can start hunting!
