Second Sight, an utterly unique third-person psychological shooter game, definitely should have garnered more attention upon its initial release. Brought to us by the minds of the incredible Timesplitters series, Second Sight blended action, psychological horror moments, and stealth to great effect.

The best part about Second Sight is that you could experiment with different play styles. Yes, the game is a stealth game first and foremost, however, you can utilize paranormal psychic powers to leave devastation in your wake should you opt for more action.

The game does feature traditional weaponry for Nick to utilize. However, it's the unlockable psychic abilities that made you feel like a true powerhouse. This game's mysterious story could have used a worthy sequel.

7 Glover

How come the Nintendo 64 platformer starring a sentient glove isn't discussed more often? This is unfortunate because Glover was and still is a highly enjoyable 3d platformer from a bygone era. Glover's unique gameplay twist was that you had to guide the titular character atop a giant ball through creative and vibrant stages.

Glover most certainly has its loyal fans, but it's incredibly surprising this game didn't get a sequel. A new entry in the series could have added more worlds to explore and more abilities for Glover to get to grips with. Yes, pun intended.

Beetle Adventure Racing from the Nintendo 64 should not have been as enjoyable as it was back in the day. Who would have thought that a licensed racing game starring VW Beetles would actually be an absolute blast? Simply put, this game was pure arcade racing goodness.

What really made this game stand out was the plethora of diverse tracks and secret routes. The game almost felt like a kart racer due to its cartoony nature and off-the-wall physics. Finding a secret route through a hidden cave to just inch out in front of the racing pack made for a game that offered thrilling moments.

5 Diddy Kong Racing

The kart racing games you hear about most often are probably the likes of Mario Kart or Crash Nitro Kart. However, true kart racer aficionados know that Diddy Kong Racing is the real king of the pack. Diddy Kong Racing took a lovable roster of characters and tossed them into a racer where you could drive, fly, and even hover on water.

The ability to utilize different vehicle types really upped the ante for the kart racing subgenre. In addition to an incredible adventure mode, your items could also be combined for more powerful effects during races. Please Nintendo, remake this game or at least provide a proper sequel.

4 Okami

Ammeterasu fights multiple enemies in Okami

While Okami, the beautiful 3D adventure game, did indeed receive a shiny HD upgrade, it has never received an actual sequel. This is an utter shame because Okami took the puzzle and exploration elements from The Legend of Zelda series but incorporated a unique paintbrush mechanic to spice things up.

Okami stars Amaterasu, a lovable and courageous wolf. Amaterasu would explore the elegantly designed worlds in order to restore them through the aforementioned painting mechanic. A sequel on the Switch would be a perfect fit.

Darkwatch was another 2000s era action-adventure game, this time taking place from a first-person perspective. You play as a vampire cowboy, Jericho Cross, as he battles his way through supernatural and steampunk-inspired worlds. Darkwatch was revolutionary for its blend of first-person shooting and vampiric abilities.

2 Eternal Sonata

Albedo and Polka in Eternal Sonata

Eternal Sonata, the music-themed JRPG, is equal parts outstanding and bizarre. It's an outstanding game due to its incredible strategic action gameplay, amazing visuals, and creative gameplay worlds. It's bizarre because you are quite literally playing out the fever dream of the famous composer, Frederic Chopin.

This Xbox 360 era JRPG continues to fly under the radar. Diehard JRPG fans know of its beautify and enjoyment, however, many other genre fans have missed out on this gem of a game. A sequel with another composer could really help to bring back this buried game to help show what people missed out on.

1 Vampyr

The most recent game in this list, Vampyr, deserves a follow-up in some shape or form due to the way it blended nuanced character interactions and development with action-RPG gameplay. You play as Dr. Jonathan Reid, a blood transfusion specialist who just so happens to also be a vampire, which, of course, is quite the conundrum for him.

While Vampyr received generally positive reviews, mostly for its narrative, characters, and world-building, the game was a letdown for many people due to its combat. However, the vampiric abilities mixed with the option to bite or not bite citizens helped set this game apart.
