One aspect of Morrowind and Oblivion that many players took issue with was that, while it was a nice change to have a voice behind the many NPCs that could be interacted with, the majority of them were voiced by the same person and resulted in many of them sounding identical to one another. While the most recent game, Skyrim, also suffers from this, it is to a far lesser extent as there are many more voices behind the characters this time around.

Some of the voices found in Skyrim are fairly recognizable right away, as was the case with Patrick Stewart in the role of Uriel Septim in Oblivion, but there are also several others that aren't as readily recognizable upon first hearing their voices, including the major character in the story.

It makes sense to give the role of the Daedric Prince of Madness to a comedian, and in Skyrim's case, it was given to Wes Johnson. Skyrim wasn't Johnson's first role in an Elder Scrolls game, however, as he also player Lucien Lachance and Sheogorath in Oblivion as well as Molag Bal, Boethiah, and Malacath in Morrowind.
