It’s a full slate this week in the indie gaming scene with something for everyone. From playformers and RTS to JRPGs and old people mayhem simulators — which is an actual genre, apparently — you’re bound to find an indie title or two that you can check out this weekend. Insect Adventure - May 17 (PC)

Insect Adventure – from developer MAYO-FORCE – is a metroidvania adventure where you’ll lead Bugsy on his quest to find Mayo and the mysterious Lizardman, platforming through labyrinths of ancient ruins while encountering enemies and massive bosses. Insect Adventure is available now on Steam.

Faraway Qualia - May 17 (PC)

From developer Nyahhoiya comes Faraway Qualia, a JRPG that focuses on the magic of alchemy, combining turn-based combat with a charming Story of Seasons sim aesthetic. Faraway Qualia is now available on PC via Steam.

Essays on Empathy - May 18 (PC)

Essays on Empathy comes from developer Deconstructeam and combines ten short tales about life presented in a way that is unique to the narrative genre. Essays on Empathy is available now on Steam.

Aerial_Knight's Never Yield - May 19 (PC, PS5, XBX, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Aerial_Knight's Never Yield is a 3D runner set in a futuristic Tokyo-style Detroit where you’ll take on the role of Wally as he uncovers the mystery behind what’s happened to him and his city. Featuring a soundtrack by Danime-Sama – with vocals from artists from all over the world – this is one that all endless runner genre fans should check out. Aerial_Knight's Never Yield is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.

Rising Hell - May 19 (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Rising Hell – from developer Tahoe Games – is a vertical platformer rogue-lite that features heavy metal music while you duke it out with hordes of demons as you try to escape from hell, all while unlocking new characters and talents along the way. Rising Hell is available now on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Just Die Already - May 20 (PC)

Coming from developer DoubleMoose – the team behind Goat Simulator – Just Die Already is an “old people mayhem simulator” that puts you in the shoes, er… slippers of a troublesome senior citizen who has been kicked out of a retirement home and let loose into the harsh and incredibly dangerous city. Just Die Already is available now on Steam.

Mind Scanners - May 20 (PC)

Mind Scanners is a quirky puzzle game where you’ll use arcade-style treatment to help a slew of otherworldly characters in a dystopian city, all in an attempt to save your daughter from the powers at be. Mind Scanners is available now on PC.
