It’s somehow already the middle of September, with this week’s batch of indie game releases being a rather busy one with some great looking titles.

Here are our picks for this week in indie games, September 12 - 18.

Flynn: Son of Crimson - September 15 (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Flynn: Son of Crimson – from developer Studio Thunderhorse – puts you on a “journey of discovery and conflict” as you, along with your awesome-looking mount named Dex, learn to harness the power of Crimson Energy and save the world of Rosantica from the evil Scourge. Flynn: Son of Crimson is available today for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Metallic Child - September 15 (PC, Switch)

Metallic Child is an impressive-looking action rogue-lite from developer Studio HG that puts you in the metal shoes of Rona, the android known as Metallic Child, as it takes on fleets of other androids and robots to stop the evil plans of Doctor Irene. Metallic Child is available today for PC and Nintendo Switch.

Gamedec - September 16 (PC, Switch)

AnsharStudios’ Gamedec is a narrative CRPG in which you’ll play as a detective looking to solve a mystery in a virtual cyberpunk neon world. Gamedec will be available on September 16 for PC via Steam.

Skatebird - September 16 (PC, XBX Game Pass, Switch, Luna)

Skatebird – from indie developer Glass Bottom Games – makes skateboarding for the birds in this quirky, silly take on the skateboarding genre. You’ll take on the role of Birb as it skates through various locations and performs tricks on everyday items such as soup bowls and staplers. Skatebird will be available on September 16 for PC, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna.

Severed Steel - September 17 (PC)

Severed Steel is a stylistic first-person shooter from developer Greylock Studio that has you running, jumping, sliding, and falling through a neon paradise as you shoot at enemies (and avoid their attacks) through a bullet time mechanic that makes gunfights all the more thrilling. Severed Steel will be available on September 17 for PC, with console releases planned for later year.

Argus Panoptes - September 17 (PC)

Argus Panoptes – from developer Tempel 1 Studio – is a visually striking 2D platformer where you’ll be tasked with escorting an orb that is tethered to you, using it to help you get through each level, all the while making sure you (and the orb) avoid the spikes that will spell certain doom. The challenging-looking Argus Panoptes will be available on September 17 for PC via Steam.

A few other indie games to check out includes a handful of titles that are in Early Access, or have already been released and are making their debut on other platforms:
