Players want to see a DOOM Eternal mod where Isabelle rides on the Doom Slayer’s shoulder and kills demons if you go down.

It’s been two weeks since the simultaneous launches of both DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A lot has changed in those two weeks as the coronavirus pandemic continues to play out, but one thing that hasn’t changed was the expected success of both these amazing titles.

DOOM Eternal is the best DOOM game of the entire franchise. New Horizons had the biggest launch of any game on the Switch. And gamers still remember all the incredible crossover art in the lead up to March 20.

In fact, these games are so huge that players are demanding that the modding community continue the DOOM/Animal Crossing crossover with a mod that places Isabelle on Doomguy’s shoulder.

A Reddit post from rowsdwoerismydad (which in turn quotes another post from user caramelitoalegre) says "we NEED a mod where Isabelle is sitting on Doomguy's shoulder, operating the Flame Belch & grenade launcher."

The post has since received over 41k upvotes on r/gaming, with fans universally in agreement that this just needs to happen. It’s certainly not going to be easy, but game modders are a resourceful lot. We give it a few months before Isabelle is running around in the world of DOOM Eternal slaying demons with Doomguy at her side.

All this fan art has even gotten the attention of New Horizons Game Director Aya KyogokU. "I definitely do notice and have noticed that there’s a lot of DOOM and Animal Crossing collaboration art and illustrations that are being posted, and as I look through them I’m in awe of how much creativity our fans have," he said leading up to New Horizon's release. "We’re so excited at the same time to see how the two [fandoms] are coming together to celebrate this day."

You can still check out tons of Animal Crossing/DOOM fanart out there, including this incredible video made by TheDashingDoctorK.
