Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin will be the next to perform in-game in a Fortnite event, Epic Games announced today. The four-time Latin Grammy winner will take the stage on Halloween night, headlining the Fortnitemares Afterlife Party event on the Party Royale island. J Balvin will perform his “biggest hits,” and debut a brand-new song featuring Panamanian singer Sech.
J Balvin’s concert will go live on October 31st at 9pm Eastern time. Like previous concerts, the show will take place on the Party Royale island’s main stage. J Balvin has had a host of number-one hits, including Mi Gente and La Cancion. The Colombian artist has also been featured on a number of international hits, including I Like It with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, and Say My Name with David Guetta and Bebe Rexha.
J Balvin joins Marshmello, Travis Scott, Dominic Fike, and many others who have had in-game Fortnite concerts. Epic Games has also hosted movie nights on the Party Royale island, broadcasting Christopher Nolan’s Inception, The Prestige, and Batman Begins in-game earlier this year.
For those who can’t make the concert, rebroadcasts will go live on November 1st at 1pm EST and again at 6pm EST, on the Party Royale main stage. The premiere and the 6pm EST rebroadcast will also be available to view on the Houseparty mobile video chat app. Owners of the Party Trooper character skin who attend the Afterlife Party concert premiere or any of the rebroadcasts will unlock an exclusive J Balvin style of the skin.
Fortnite’s third annual Fortnitemares Halloween event launched in-game on October 21st. The event, called Midas’ Revenge, brings a number of Halloween-themed items and the arrival of Shadow Midas, who has taken over The Authority. Midas wishes to turn all players into shadows, and hopes to do so with the help of his army of undead shadows.
In regular battle royale matches during the Fortnitemares event, eliminated players will return to the battlefield as shadows. Shadows will have their own set of abilities that will aid them in taking down remaining players.
Fortnitemares is live in Fortnite now, running until November 3rd. J Balvin’s Afterlife Party concert will take place on October 31st.
