Although there are plenty of fun free web-browser games out there to play, this latest pack is worth the investment, especially since only one person needs to buy it. You just need to set up a game, and everyone else will join on their phones. Each game in the latest pack offers a fun experience, but which one is the best?

5 Drawful: Animate - A Twist On A Classic

  • Players: 3 - 10
  • Average Playtime: 15 - 30 Minutes

Drawful: Animate is similar to some of the game modes from Gartic Phone. In this game mode, you must draw a two-framed animation based on a random, silly prompt. Once you have created your masterpiece, your friends must come up with their own titles for it. The aim is to try and fool everyone else into picking their answer instead of the actual prompt. It is a fun, simple game that can offer a lot of laughs as you all try to figure out what everyone attempted to draw.

This game mode does work as an excellent next step for the Drawful series. The animation adds a fun new aspect to the process and allows everyone's creativity to be unleashed. The game also offers a friends mode, which will enable you to add a personal touch to the experience. If you have already played earlier versions of Drawful, these new additions are not quite enough to make it feel like an entirely new experience. It is an entertaining game, but this one doesn't stand out as well in a pack full of original ideas.

4 Job Job - Mess With Your Friend's Answers

Jackbox Party Pack 8 - Job Job - deciding on your words and two players up against one another
  • Players: 3 - 10
  • Average Playtime: 15 - 25 Minutes

Job Job is a fun, casual game to play with your friends. The theme and premise of this game are great. You are all being interviewed together, competing for a new job. Don't worry. This isn't as stressful as an actual job interview. Instead, you'll be answering all sorts of silly questions in an attempt to impress the boss (the other players voting). Next, everyone's answers are jumbled together, and the individual words are shared out randomly to everyone. For your next question, you can only select words from this muddled list. It is very tricky to make sense of your answers now, often leading to hilarious results.

The restriction on what you can say is a captivating challenge. You have to search to find some comedy gold within the random assortment of words presented before you. A downside is that you are really relying on your friends to give you something to work with. If there are no exciting words to pick from, your answers can sometimes fall flat. This game is a unique take on the Quiplash formula that Jackbox is famous for, offering something new and exciting for your party.

3 The Poll Mine - Working As A Team

Jackbox Party Pack 8 - The Poll Mine - Voting on the best answer
  • Players: 2 - 10
  • Average Playtime: 15 - 20 Minutes

The poll mine takes a really creative spin on opinion-based games. You are split into two teams and are then asked to complete a series of polls, ranking options in order. Once everyone has answered the ballot, the results are secretly tallied up, and it is up to your team to correctly guess the rankings. The prompts are always silly and interesting, and you are not always trying to guess the top answer. Each level is different, keeping the game fresh and exciting throughout.

What makes this game mode so great is that it actively encourages discussion within your group of friends. It can be a great way to find out a little more about everyone as you try and determine the consensus on various topics. The twists on each level of the game keep things interesting, adding new challenges and getting you thinking. On top of this, the fun team names and cute avatars really add to the quirky theme of The Poll Mine.

2 The Wheel Of Enormous Proportions - Chaotic Quizzing

Jackbox Party Pack 8 - The Wheel Of Enormous Proportions - The giant wheel - An example question
  • Players: 2 - 8
  • Average Playtime: 15 - 30 Minutes

In The Wheel Of Enormous Proportions, you are seeking an answer to that question that's been bugging you for years. But, to achieve that sense of clarity, you must first compete in a silly game of trivia with your friends! It's a race against the clock to answer various types of questions, from multiple-choice to pairing up famous duos.

Each time you get the most correct answers, you receive a slice. The more slices you have, the more slots you can claim on the spinning wheel to increase your chances of earning even more points. The more points you have, the more opportunities you get to spin the winner wheel. Does that all make sense? It doesn't need to.

This game mode is one of the funniest and chaotic games Jackbox has created. Just like Trivia Murder Party, this game offers a fun take on trivia games. The humor comes from the over-the-top host and the pure randomness of the many spinning wheels. You'll find yourself chanting 'Skull Skull Skull!' as your friend attempts to spin the winner wheel to secure a victory. This game is fast-paced, has some fun variation on its question types, and shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Just enjoy the chaos and keep on spinning, and maybe you'll get your question answered at the end.

1 Weapons Drawn - Deception And Mind Games

Jackbox Party Pack 8 - Weapons Drawn - Player portraits - Final drawings shown
  • Players: 4 - 8
  • Average Playtime: 25 - 35 Minutes

Fans of Among Us will love this deception game. In Weapons Drawn, you play as esteemed detectives attending a party at a fancy manor. But things do not go smoothly at this gathering, as you are all also the most infamous murderers, eager to strike again.

A lot is going on with this game mode. First, you must draw your murder weapons, trying to hide your calling card (a letter from your name) within it. If the other players spot this letter, they'll know you committed the crime. Next, you create names for other guests that are attending the party. You want these names to be tempting for the other murderers but not for them to realize that you brought this guest along.

Once all of this setup is complete, you'll be attempting to kill your friend's guests by guessing who invited them. You get some delicious murder points and leave your murder weapon behind as a clue if you guess right. The next step is investigating the crime scene, looking out for letters, and casting votes on who you think killed the unfortunate guest. It is a game full of bluffing and insight. It is easily the best game in the pack.

Weapons Drawn might seem a little daunting at first, with many rules to take in at the start. But, after a round, you'll very quickly get to grips with its intricate details. Weapons Drawn is an incredibly creative game mode. There is a lot of mistrust and intrigue as you simultaneously attempt to find the calling cards of your friends to catch them out on their murders while also trying to slip out of your own crimes. There are so many fun tactics to try. Will you attempt to frame someone else in your drawing? How will you mislead the group to avoid being caught? This game has a little of everything, and although it is one of the longer games in the pack, it is an incredibly satisfying experience. You'll feel like an incredible detective and an unstoppable killer at the same time.
