Streamer Sakura is very amused at McDonald's Japan's new cream pies after discovering the alternative English meaning for the phrase.

McDonald's is the most popular fast-food franchise in the world and boasts thousands of restaurants in countless countries all over the planet. Maccy D's aficionados are always keen to discover the different products locations in other countries serve up. Whether it be Creme Egg McFlurries or serving beer with its meals, McDonald's has subtle differences in every country.

One item you'll find in most McDonald's locations around the world is its humble apple pie. Despite it really being more of a fritter than a pie, and its filling remaining hotter than the surface of the sun no matter how long it is left to cool, McDonald's apple pie has been one of the franchise's most popular desserts for decades. So popular that various countries often release limited edition spin-offs.

The latest country's McDonald's restaurants to give this a try are Japan's. McDonald's Japan has decided to replace the sweet apple filling with cream. The problem with this frankly delicious-sounding product comes in its name. When translated from Japanese to English it reads as the Adult Cream Pie, something streamer Sakura found rather amusing upon discovery as demonstrated by LivestreamFails.

During a recent stream, after having learned of the alternative meaning for cream pie in the English language, Sakura pulled up an article about the new product on a Japanese news site, SoraNews24. "So I found out the meaning. This is from McDonald's guys, okay?" Sakura exclaims to her viewers as she tries not to laugh. The article about McDonald's Adult Cream Pies is the most popular on the site, so clearly, plenty of people have been fooled by the dangerous translation.

As for confusion when it comes to cream pies, Sakura isn't the only one to have been fooled. Avid viewers of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia will recall an episode where a similar mix-up happens. One half of the gang thinks the other is talking about the kind of cream pie you might find at McDonald's, while the other half is thinking about, well, you know. And if you don't know please, we beg of you, do not google it.
