JayStation has come under fire for dishonestly claiming that his girlfriend died in a bid to gain more subscribers on YouTube.

The YouTuber uploaded emotional footage on January 22 in which he claimed that his girlfriend was killed by a drunk driver but, the very next day, she appeared in a new video. JayStation said he had already recorded five videos featuring his girlfriend before she died, suggesting that they were released posthumously.

Fans did not buy the story, though, and a fellow YouTuber going by Twitter handle @OrdinaryGamers claims to have even contacted local police departments in Canada in search of information.

H3H3's Ethan Klein has also accused JayStation of lying about his girlfriend's death just to get more subscribers. And it did not help that the YouTuber subsequently posted a video in which he claims he spoke to his deceased girlfriend via means of a Ouija board at 3 am.

Such antics are hardly new to JayStation, who's pretended to communicate with late rapper Mac Miller the same way, as well as several other deceased, well-known personalities.

The video had garnered around 35,000 likes over the weekend but has since been deleted, with the last known dislike figure sitting at 6,900. Given the overwhelmingly negative comments below the vid, it's pretty surprising that the number of likes was significantly higher than the number of dislikes.

JayStation asked his supposedly dead girlfriend several questions in the video and her answers were spelled on the Ouija board. He decided to end the session after she confirmed she missed him and upon getting up, his cameraman spotted lipstick on his cheek, an obvious suggestion of her kissing him goodbye.

The controversial YouTuber has also deleted the rest of the videos noting claims of his girlfriend's death and there's a newer one showing him admitting his lies and attempting to explain why he went through with this reprehensible act.

Perhaps more understandably, this vid has a lot more dislikes attached but JayStation's subscriber count is still well over five million.

He claims that his girlfriend was "okay" with the plan to fake her death but has also said that she's reported him to the police for assault (which he denies).
