EA's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order teased exciting boss fights with its initial reveal and Respawn delivered on the promises made. The game features several story-based and optional boss fights that test player skill and familiarity with both the lightsaber abilities as well as the dodging and parrying mechanics built into the combat system.

These boss battles end up being both fulfilling and rewarding in several ways. We'll take a closer look at a few of the hardest bosses in the game.

Updated on March 1, 2021 by Scoot Allan: Given the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA revealed that Respawn Entertainment had begun development on the highly anticipated sequel. Fans of the game are excited to explore the next stage in the adventures of Cal Kestis and his friends on the Stinger Mantis. This has led many fans to return to 2019's Jedi: Fallen Order to make their way through a number of challenging enemies and bosses that range from alien monsters to bounty hunters and powerful Sith Inquisitors. We'll take a further look today at some of the most difficult bosses from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

15 Mad Midge Is A Bounty Hunter That Works Best With A Partner

STAR WARS JEDI FALLEN ORDER BOSSES - Mad Midge

Cal Kestis encounters quite a few operatives from the Haxion Brood criminal empire after he becomes involved with a bounty placed on shipmate Greez Dritus. Mad Midge is one of the jetpack-wearing bounty hunters that encountered Cal on Kashyyk alongside a powerful Bounty Droid.

Haxion Brood's Bounty Hunters aren't the most difficult mini-bosses to deal with in Jedi: Fallen Order, but they very rarely work alone. Mad Midge is armed with a flamethrower, blaster, and missiles that can be very annoying when dodging other attacks.

14 Atticus Rex And His Allies Work For The Haxian Brood

STAR WARS JEDI FALLEN ORDER BOSSES - Atticus Rex

The bounty hunter known as Atticus Rex is another of Haxion Brood's mercenaries who is sent after Cal and the crew of the Mantis. He encounters Cal and BD-1 alongside fellow bounty hunter Null Chance (more on him soon), though he is easily identifiable by his unique helmet.

Atticus Rex shares similar capabilities and difficulties as other bounty hunters, including the same weapon system and move sets. Rex takes the lead among some of his fellow Brood hunters due to his elevated design.

13 The Haxion Mercenary Droids Accompany Bounty Hunters And Can Quickly Overwhelm Players

STAR WARS JEDI FALLEN ORDER BOSSES - Haxian Mercenary Droids

There are a number of different bounty hunter droids that Cal and BD-1 encounter over the course of Jedi: Fallen Order. These various bounty droids are often paired up with other Haxion Brood bounty hunters and commandoes.

This alliance can make their occasional charged and unblockable attacks devastating when distracted by other enemies. The Haxion Mercenary Droids named Chonk and Mich Murda shared similar bodies, though other versions like The Maestro and Daschorb also appeared.

12 Pango Two-Teeth Is A Bounty Commando With A Powerful Move Set And Bad Timing

STAR WARS JEDI FALLEN ORDER BOSSES - Pango Two-Teeth

Another mercenary that was sent after Cal Kestis was the Bounty Commando known as Pango Two-Teeth. Two-Teeth attacks alongside fellow Bounty Commando Flataak, making them a dangerous combination.

To make things even worse, Pango Two-Teeth first attacks after an intense boss fight that could leave you short on stims. Pango Two-Teeth has a blaster, flash grenade and powerful shockwave that makes it difficult to get close and unload with a lightsaber.

11 Null Chance Is One Of The Few Bosses That Is Initially Impossible To Defeat

Null Chance is not only a bounty hunter with a dad joke for a name, but he's also literally unbeatable the first time you face him. The fact that the initial fight is tied to the plot of the game and Cal gets captured no matter what means it isn't exactly a difficult fight.

The reality of the fact is that you can't beat him no matter how good you are, so at the end of the day he technically deserves a spot on this list. Once you eliminate the creatures in Sorc Tormo's arena, you'll have a chance to finally take out Null Chance.

10 Oggdo Bogdo Can Crush Players' Spirits Early In The Game Due To His Thick Hide And Quick Attacks

Now, Oggdo Bogdo is only difficult if you encounter him and choose to fight early in the game when you first arrive on the planet Bogano. As the game progresses and you can more life, force, and abilities it becomes more of an afterthought.

Just like FromSoftware does with many of their games, Respawn placed it where it did as an early litmus test for players. It allows you to hit your head against a wall as you become familiar with the combat systems of the game while you try and take down a giant toad.

9 Ilum AT-ST Scout Walker's Are Dangerous When Working Together And Require Patience

The AT-ST is an enemy you'll see numerous times throughout your adventures in Jedi: Fallen Order, but the most difficult run-in is probably after the events on Ilum have begun to come to a close and Cal heads for the Stinger Mantis in hopes of escaping from the Empire.

Along his way back to the ship he gets to an open area that is now populated by two different AT-ST pilots. As long as you keep your distance and are patient you can overcome them both and continue back to the ship so you can depart from Ilum.

8 The Rabid Jotaz Is One Of The Most Powerful Legendary  Beasts In The Game

STAR WARS JEDI FALLEN ORDER BOSSES - Rabid Jotaz

The deadly Rabid Jotaz is a powerful Legendary Beast and can be found on Zeffo as one of the optional alien monsters that can be found on the various planets. While the large monster is as slow as the smaller Jotaz that can be found on Zeffo, its powerful attacks can severely drain Cal's block meter.

The Rabid Jotaz also has a number of different powerful attacks that separate it from other monsters like the Oggdo Bogdo. While some are easy to avoid, getting clipped by a slow-moving blow can easily set you up for a deathblow that could end your game for the day.

7 Second Sister's First Battle Created A Mystery While Testing Your Jedi Abilities

The first time you face the Second Sister it comes as a surprise as it presents itself out of nowhere while Cal is exploring the mining areas on Zeffo. The fight itself feels pretty insurmountable but in classic video game fashion, you simply need to clear a portion of her health.

This triggers a cutscene that drops some major reveals in regards to Cere and the identity of the Second Sister. The fight is a good way to practice parrying and figure out how to fight in tight spaces against pretty tough opponents.

6 The Ninth Sister Was Both Physically Intimidating And Strong In The Force

When looking at all of the bosses Jedi: Fallen Order presented to the player, the Ninth Sister may have the most tragic yet mysterious conclusion. After reaching the summit of the Great Tree on Kashyyyk, players are met with the face-to-face challenge of taking down the physically imposing Ninth Sister.

The fight centers on you as a player being familiar with dodging and parrying. She's a boss who relies more on brute strength and intimidation and less on the actual skill the player needs to be worried about.

5 Escaping From Darth Vader Was Just As Difficult As Fighting The Powerful Sith Lord

Now, this is going to be contentious because people assume that any fight involving Darth Vader should be near the top of any list, but that's just not the case with Jedi: Fallen Order. After defeating Trilla, Cal is quickly introduced to the powerhouse that is Darth Vader and must do everything in his power to escape with his life.

Though the encounter begins with a neat exchange, the fact that it's mostly an escape mission takes away from the direct difficulty of fighting someone of Darth Vader's power and skill level.

4 Nydak Alpha Is An Optional Monster Boss That Shouldn't Be Skipped, Despite The Difficulty

Throughout the game, Respawn did a great job of giving the player options when it came to both exploration and bosses. There are numerous creatures in the game that are completely optional and can be avoided if you're simply looking to focus on the narrative story elements of the game.

The Nydak Alpha is one of the optional bosses on Dathomir and a lesser form if it was placed near where the Stinger Mantis lands on Dathomir. Be careful as its long chain of powerful attacks can quickly send you to a respawn screen.

3 Gorgara Is Just One Of The Many Dangers Found On The Planet Of Dathomir

The Gorgara is a large owl-like creature that is built-up to be quite intimidating during various moments of Cal's journey on Dathomir. His fight against the beast takes place in a medium-sized cave where players must learn to navigate the little room they have to come out of it alive.

There's an argument to be made that defeating Gorgara isn't too satisfying as the killing blow happens in an action sequence, but it's hard to deny how fun and awe-inducing that whole section is.

2 Taron Malicos Is A Corrupted Jedi With A Number Of His Own Powerful Force Abilities

Taron Malicos may not be the first Jedi you fight in the game, but the location and circumstances make the battle stand out. Malicos is a manipulator, and during the fight, you can hear him trying to get into Cal's head.

The biggest hurdle with him is staying close enough to inflict consistent damage as he constantly force pushes Cal away. Malicos also has a move where he grabs rocks and boulders to throw at Cal which can be difficult to learn how to dodge in the moment.

1 The Final Battle With Inquisitor Trilla Is Both Incredibly Challenging And Rewarding

Trilla is technically the last boss Cal fights in the game as the confrontation with Vader is more about escaping than it is fighting. From a narrative perspective, the last fight with Trilla results in an emotional moment that showcases who Trilla was before the dark side consumed her.

On a gameplay level, she presents quite the challenge as she's constantly evolving her fighting style with new animations and will be aided by droids at certain points of the fight. Defeating her truly feels like an earned moment.
