Marvel’s Hawkeye is just one of the many character spin-offs due to debut on Disney Plus within the next year, and its main star Jeremy Renner has confirmed filming has wrapped. With the conclusive events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier still fresh on everyone’s mind, plus the upcoming Loki due to premiere in June, fans are spoiled for choice.

In addition to Marvel on the small screen, the behemoth universe also debuted the Master of Kung Fu in the new trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The action-packed teaser was a fitting introduction to the character and his history, accompanied by a few Easter eggs. Also joining Shang-Chi on the film front will be the long-awaited Black Widow, which was delayed until July 9. 2021 promises to be a year of thrilling entertainment for Marvel fans, but one quieter member of the Avengers has been attracting a lot of attention recently.

Hawkeye will see Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton team up with Hailee Steinfeld’s protégé Kate Bishop, before passing the archer’s mantle. It is also expected that Renner will morph into Ronin after Bishop assumes the role of Hawkeye - as per the comics. It’s an exciting addition to Phase Four, and Renner recently shared an Instagram story announcing the project’s last day of filming. Renner added “Last day, for now” to an image of the actor sporting a few facial cuts, promising fans that “this is not goodbye.” Renner’s statement seems to suggest that the actor will be back as Ronin, but Hawkeye also welcomes Vera Farmiga to the franchise as well as returning Florence Pugh’s Black Widow character Yelena Belova.

Clint Barton has also managed to invigorate Crystal Dynamics' Marvel’s Avengers game, which has failed to leave a lasting impression on fans. Last month, the game received a content update adding a new story campaign, next-gen upgrades, as well as the arrival of Hawkeye. The character’s addition managed to pull in five times the amount of users in the game’s player base count, proving that Hawkeye is still the champion underdog of the Avengers.

With The Falcon and The Winter Soldier now concluded, attention turns to Loki which will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as the trickster god. The trailer alone has already delivered a lot of chuckles - particularly from Owen Wilson’s character - and Hiddleston also hinted that the shapeshifting logo represents “the many selves” of Loki.
