Bithell Games has announced it will be bringing the rather excellent John Wick Hex to PS4 on May 5, 2020. Released last year shortly after John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the game acted as a prequel to the film series and showed a period of the titular character's life as a ruthless assassin.

Mixing X-COM like gameplay with the finesse of the films, it created a sensation of actually being Keanu Reeves on the film set and performing those tactical maneuvers. Some limitations in the technology held back the presentation a bit, but it was otherwise a faithful adaptation that you could tell put more thought into accurately recreating what viewers liked from the movies.

At the moment, it seems like this will be a PS4 exclusive as far as consoles go. Over on the PlayStation Blog, director Mike Bithell explains how developer Ant Workshop took over porting duties and did a commendable job adapting the PC control scheme to a gamepad. It can be tough trying to figure out how to condense 100+ keys down to 14 buttons, but it seems everything worked out here.

If you were eager to try out the main game, but saddened by its Epic Games Store exclusivity, this PS4 version should be right up your alley. Make sure to keep an eye out for it when it launches early next month.
