To fill the time between now and the release of John Wick Hex, why not give this free-to-play NES-style John Wick game a try? Be warned, it is incredibly difficult.
Keanu Reeves might have been a popular part of pop culture for decades, but he is having an incredibly bright spotlight shone on him in 2019. For those who didn't already know, the world is being clued into the fact that Reeves is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. Turns out he is nothing like the character he portrays in John Wick, aside from the fact that he loves puppies.
Speaking of John Wick, the release of the third chapter of the franchise earlier this year is another reason there has been so much hype surrounding Reeves. The movie has sparked a litany of forays into the video game world. Firstly, Fortnite teamed up with the studio behind the John Wick movies to add its lead character to the battle royale game.
At this year's E3, it was revealed that Reeves will be a character in Cyberpunk 2077. As if all of that wasn't enough, back in May, a game called John Wick Hex was announced. Trouble is, apart from Fortnite, we have been left waiting for all of Reeves/Wick's video game appearances.
That's one of the reasons why MuriloDev decided to save the day.
PC Gamer reports that the developer used assets from a fake NES version of John Wick to make an actual playable game, which has been appropriately named John Wick. It's an incredibly cool thing, and totally free to play. You can check out footage of the game above, but be warned: it's not as easy as it appears. Thankfully, you can adjust the difficulty level and honestly, we'd recommend you do so.
The game is only a few levels long, but if played on the difficulty its developers would prefer, those levels will probably keep you occupied for quite a while. If you like the sound of it and want to give it a try, it is available to download for free via MuriloDev's website. There is a chance that the official minds behind John Wick won't be fans of this unofficial game though, so if you are going to download it, we'd do it now.
