Nintendo has announced over 200 million jumps have been made since Jump Rope Challenge's release.

In light of this social distancing period, many patrons have turned to exercise as a way to fill their time at home. As a result, sales for workout games like Ring Fit Adventure have seen record-breaking numbers, though the game's popularity has made it difficult for people to get their hands on a physical copy. Luckily, Nintendo recently released another fitness-type game; and to make the deal even sweeter, it's free.

Jump Rope Challenge is a game that encourages players to work out. Unlike Ring Fit Adventure, which requires an additional accessory to playing the game, Jump Rope Challenge simulates an active jump rope by simply utilizing the Switch's joy-cons. Players can jump solo or even give a friend some extra controllers and jump together. The game features a calendar-type function that allows players to track the number of jumps they've done each day. Players can also set a daily goal to try and beat to keep them on track and accountable for their fitness aspirations. However, for those who might need a little more structure, the game sets an initial goal of 100 jumps a day.

Nintendo released the game as a free-to-download title in the Switch eShop, where it will remain free until September later this year. The game was released on June 15, meaning it's only been out for less than a week; but in the last few days, it's attracted the attention of many gamers looking to get a little physical.

Just yesterday, Nintendo of Europe announced on their official Twitter account (@NintendoEurope) that they've counted over 200 million jumps made by Jump Rope Challenge players from all over the world. The announcement was paired with an adorable gif of Jump Rope Challenge's mascot - a cute tan bunny wearing a fitness-style tracksuit - jumping to a counter that ticks up to 200,000,000.

Jump Rope Challenge is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop. It is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, but not the Nintendo Switch Lite. The game is currently free-to-play, however only until September 2020.
