The next special Pikachu is available to claim in Pokemon Sword & Shield, as you can now download one wearing the hat from the Kalos series of the Pokemon anime.

The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield is only a week away. To promote the release of the DLC, The Pokemon Company is giving away special Pikachu that are wearing the caps worn by Ash in the Pokemon anime. It's currently possible to download Pikachu wearing hats from the Kanto/Johto/Galar seasons of the anime, a Pikachu wearing a cap from the Hoenn season, and a Pikachu wearing a cap from the Unova season.

In order to claim the Kalos Cap Pikachu, load up your save in Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield and go to the Mystery Gift menu. Select "Get a Mystery Gift", then "Get with Code/Password". The system will then need to connect to the Internet. Once it reaches the menu, type KAL0SP1KA into the command prompt to receive the gift. The Kalos Cap Pikachu will then appear in your party or in the Box. You have until November 30 to claim it. The release announcement can be seen in a post on the Serebii Twitter page.

The Kalos season of the Pokemon anime was based on the Pokemon X & Y video games. The ending of the Kalos season was notable for having one of the biggest upset victories in the history of the anime, as Ash Ketchum's Greninja was defeated by Alain in the final of the Lumiose Conference. The fan backlash to the loss might have been what prompted Ash to win the Alola championship in 2019, which has led to a drastic shift in format in the Pokemon anime.

There is one more special Pikachu planned for release soon, as only the Alola Cap Pikachu remains. Check back in with TheGamer to find out the code for this exclusive Pokemon when it's revealed, which won't be long, as the Crown Tundra DLC is only a few days away.

The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield will be released on October 22, 2020. The Kalos Cap Pikachu can be claimed until November 30, 2020.
