Before giving birth to her baby daughter with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry has decided to produce an unexpected gift for fans — a video game titled Katy’s Quest that shows the singer going to the circus to help other artists “find their smile.”

Due to be released on August 28, the game is a collaboration with Alienware. Perry announced the release on her Instagram and Twitter pages to her 100 million followers, writing, “Guess what? #SMILE [Perry’s latest album] ain’t the only thing dropping on Friday. #KatysQuest will be available on 8/28 at https://redirect.viglink.com/?key=f7b3f4f436eeb21561fd86fbd1d7ab08&cuid=UUtgUeUpU45139&u=http%3A%2F%2FAlienware.com%2FSmile. Help me find my smile (& share smiles with @MusiCares and @ExtraLife4Kids) while u listen to the new record! @Alienware #Alienware #AlienwarePartner.”

The game will support Extra Life, a charity that hosts gaming events that benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The organization has successfully raised over $70 million since 2008. Extra Life will also host a gaming day on November 7 on Twitch and other platforms to support “the Children’s Hospital COVID-19 Impact Fund at 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

Extra Life was founded in 2008 in honor of Victoria Enmon, who died of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, in collaboration with the Sarcastic Gamer community, which had sent gifts and video games to her. The organization holds 24-hour gaming marathons, which are live-streamed on Twitch. While playing, gamers can request donations for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Groups that have participated include the Austin, Texas media company Rooster Teeth, and the East Carolina University Board Gaming Society. Last year, 50,000 gamers participated in the events and $14,000,000 were raised.

As for Katy’s Quest, which is inspired by the singer’s "Smile" music video, it is a 2D side-scrolling game that allows players to explore the circus while trying to restore the smiles back to the NPCs found along the way. Players can interact with a variety of circus performers, including Strong Man, The Frog Prince, and Wolf Boy, and participate in classic carnival games.

Katy’s Quest will available for PC on Dell’s Alienware site.
