Kena: Bridge of Spirits is currently available only across PlayStation consoles and PC, but that doesn’t mean the game won’t arrive on other platforms sometime later. Ember Lab developer clarified the title is a timed exclusive, and the team will look into other possibilities in the future.

Speaking to SegmentNext recently, Ember Lab co-founder and chief operations officer Josh Grier mentioned the potential Kena launch on Xbox consoles or Nintendo Switch sometime in the future. According to Grier, the team is currently focused on the game’s successful launch for PlayStation and Epic Games Store. However, since Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a timed exclusive on those platforms, the developer “will look into other platform releases after [some] rest.”

Of course, Josh Grier’s words don’t confirm anything, and we have to wait until an official announcement is made. Yet it seems that Kena: Bridge of Spirits might be available to a broader audience once its timed-exclusive deal runs out.

Grier added that “it’s very difficult to think about next steps or future offerings” right now, as there is already enough pressure on Ember Lab. The team has been responding to the requests from the community as best it can, just announcing a physical release in a partnership with Maximum Games. The Deluxe Edition of Kena: Bridge of Spirits will arrive in Holiday 2021. In addition, the studio will add new language support to the project, including Russian and Brazilian-Portuguese.

Aside from Kena’s potential arrival to other platforms, the devs will also support their debut action-adventure title for some time with new content updates. For example, earlier the studio’s co-founder Mike Grier said there are plans to expand the game’s photo mode as well as add some new combat scenarios to the project in the foreseeable future. Seems like Ember Lab definitely has things to deliver to make Kena even greater.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available now across PS5, PS4, and PC via EGS.
