The King of Fighters 15, a forthcoming fighting game developed by SNK that is set to be released this year, has announced the addition of Andy Bogard to its roster. The character, who appeared in both the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series, is Terry Bogard's younger brother.

Known as the Human Weapon or the Whole Body Weapon, Andy Bogard is the eighth character to join the game’s line-up, along with other Fighters veterans like Kyo, Shun’ei, Chizuru Kagura, Iori Yagami, Benimaru , Joe and Meitenkun.

Andy's journey in the series begins when his father, Jeff Bogard, is killed by Geese Howard. Andy then travels to Japan to learn the Shiranui-ryuu Ninjutsu, or Shiranui Style Ninja Technique, and a form of empty-handed combat called Koppouken from Hanzo Shiranui.

There have been numerous cross-over games in the series with SNK cast interacting with characters created by Capcom. In addition, several characters have appeared as guest characters in other games, such as Geese Howard in Tekken 7, Kyo Kusanagi in Fighting Days, and Terry Bogard in Fighting EX Layer and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The King of Fighters 15 will be the first game in the series to use Unreal Engine 4. The game, which was announced in August 2019, is being developed by creative director Eisuke Ogura and producer Yasuyuki Oda, who have said that the game will be fast-paced and introduce new twists in the series’ gameplay.

SNK is reportedly also working on rollback netcode for the game to enhance performance compared to previous entries, which used delay-based netcode. In addition, anime director Masami Obari, who has worked on Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, and designed 1995 Technōs Japan's Neo Geo fighting game Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, is creating a short anime based on the series.

Although The King of Fighters 15 is launching in 2021, its platforms have not yet been announced. The King of Fighters series began with the release of The King of Fighters '94 in 1994. The series, which was originally developed for SNK's Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware, has since been ported to other platforms, including PS4, Wii, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.
