When it comes to Kingdom Hearts 3, it's not unfair to say it was a bit of a let down for a lot of people - the base version at the very least. A lot of that was down to the combat, which simplified things a bit too much and completely did away with popular features from Kingdom Hearts 2 like reaction commands. However, if you want to experience the combat of Kingdom Hearts 2 with the polish of Kingdom Hearts 3, there's now a mod that will let you do just that.

First shared by Crossing Eden on ResetEra, a YouTuber called TheGamersJoint has uploaded a video in which they combine a collection of different mods to fully recreate Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2 and put him in Kingdom Hearts 3. In this collection of mods, TheGamersJoint highlights a creator who has managed to create a set of custom-made animations for Sora which gives him his entire base moveset from Kingdom Hearts 2.

The YouTuber then shows us a side by side of the combo in action in both games, which reveals the mod has managed to perfectly recreate the Kingdom Hearts 2 moveset, albeit a teeny bit slower. If you want to experience the mod for yourself, you can head over and find it on Nexus Mods along with a big list of abilities that creator komatsuna recommends you equip to get the most out of it.

As TheGamersJoint points out, you can also stack this animations mod with existing mods for Kingdom Hearts 3 which give you the UI and Drive outfits for Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2. Doing so should give you the experience of playing through Kingdom Hearts 3 as a completely different version of Sora, whilst also pleasing that sense of nostalgia that we all carry around with us. At the very least, it's something to do while we patiently wait for Kingdom Hearts 4 to come out. Just fifty kajillion more years to go.
