There is reportedly a Kingdom Hearts TV series in the works at Disney Plus. The long-running Square Enix franchise released its newest addition last year with Kingdom Hearts 3 and with a possible Disney Plus adaptation on the way, Sora and his friends could be going on more adventures soon.

Sources that reported both the upcoming live-action remake of Robin Hood and Disney Plus' She-Hulk show said a Kingdom Hearts series is currently in development at the streaming service. While no other details were given, it is highly likely that the show will follow the game's cast of characters as they travel around various Disney worlds.

It's still unknown whether the series will follow the story of the games or veer off in its own direction. Doing so could open up a world of possibilities for the franchise to explore. Will Sora, Donald, and Goofy finally visit a Marvel or Star Wars world? Could there be more stories in the realm of Pixar? This could also be a good opportunity to return to classic worlds from the games, like those from Hercules.

The possibility of a Kingdom Hearts TV series is very exciting, especially for those who've seen the series grow over the years. It will also be interesting to see if the show connects with future games in the series, if any Final Fantasy characters are involved, and who will be working on the project. Knowing Kingdom Hearts, there will probably be a long wait until there's more information; but nevertheless, it's still very intriguing.
