Kingdom Hearts' Kingdom Key can be seen making a cameo appearance in the latest trailer for Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

As we've detailed a shocking amount over the past month or so, Kingdom Hearts cameos and easter eggs outside of gaming are pretty rare. As true as that still is, it's becoming a little harder to argue as several different Disney movies and shows have suddenly started to sneak in references to Kingdom Hearts, and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers appears to be the latest.

In the most recent trailer for the film, one scene shows Chip and Dale standing in front of a large wall of evidence bags that look to contain different parts of cartoon characters. Right in the middle of the evidence bags is Sora's Kingdom Key, marking the third easter egg from the series to appear in a Disney property in the last month.

The whole scene is one big easter egg for cartoon characters, as some of the other references include Jimmy Neutron's hair, Samurai Jack's sword, Detective Pikachu's tail, Shenron from Dragon Ball Z, the Pink Panther's mouth, and many more. Sadly, the plot of the movie seems to imply that something horrible has happened to the characters behind these individual pieces, so it's not the happiest of easter eggs out there. Poor Jimmy Neutron just got scalped, it seems.

Unlike some of the other Kingdom Hearts easter eggs that we've talked about recently, no one from the team working on Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers has opened up about the reference on social media, leaving it as nothing more than just a cute joke.

As we've made reference to, this is the third time that Kingdom Hearts has had some kind of reference in a Disney property. The first was in a Spring-themed episode of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, where the Kingdom Key D could be seen in a box, and the second was in an episode of The Proud House: Louder and Prouder, where a background resembling Kingdom Hearts could be seen.
