Last September, Nintendo revealed the next step in Kirby's journey is coming soon when it debuted a trailer for The Forgotten Land. A somewhat different take on the Kirby series at first glance, but very little has been mentioned since. That has now changed as Nintendo just dropped an all-new trailer for the game, which you can check out below, featuring a boatload of new details.

Most importantly, we now know when The Forgotten Land will be here, and in typical Nintendo fashion, we don't have long to wait. Kirby's new adventure launches on Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022. The trailer also reveals that The Forgotten Land can be played in local co-op, and also shows off some of the abilities Kirby will be able to adopt on his adventure.

Kirby can be seen sporting a wizard's hat, and also dressed as what looks like some sort of firefighter/miner hybrid, officially known as The Ranger. And yes, he will be able to fire some sort of gun in The Forgotten Land, as we reported this morning. Kirby will also be able to adopt a drill ability that allows him to burrow underground and attack his enemies from below. Later in the trailer, you can also see Kirby flying over what is a pretty sizeable map, especially for a Kirby game. Further evidence that The Forgotten Land will be unlike any Kirby game that has come before it.

Playing The Forgotten Land in local co-op will allow a second player to join in on Kirby's new adventure as Bandana Waddle Dee. Fitting as Kirby's primary purpose in the new game will be to free the Waddle Dees trapped across the map. You can see a couple being captured by The Beast Pack in the trailer above. Co-op will be restricted to both players using the same console, and there will not be an option to team up with a Waddle Dee via online play.

The Forgotten Land's hub is a wonderful place called Waddle Dee Town. The area will be pretty basic when you begin but will grow and evolve as you free more Waddle Dees. The town will develop and more shops will become available to you as you progress through the game. Kirby And The Forgotten Land launches on Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022.
