We're well into March which means the launch of Kirby and The Forgotten Land is almost here. The new Kirby game arrives on Nintendo Switch March 25, 2022. A free demo for The Forgotten Land landed on Switch last week which allows you to play through the first three levels, ending with its very first boss fight. In that demo, you have the chance to get to grips with Kirby's new mouthful mode for the first time.

The demo allows you to use mouthful mode to transform Kirby into a car, a vending machine, and a cone. However, there are a lot more things Kirby will be able to wrap his entire body around in the full game, more of which have been shown off in an all-new trailer. Kirby can become a flight of stairs to get to high to reach places and swallow a light bulb to illuminate some of The Forgotten Land's darker areas.

Perhaps the wildest, and wettest, use of mouthful mode we have been shown so far is when Kirby simply inhales as much water as he possibly can. The iconic pink puffball turns into a massive waddling water balloon, and he can then fire that water at enemies to take them down. It truly is a sight to behold, and I'm already a little disappointed there won't be massive amounts of water on hand at all times so Kirby can be filled up at a moment's notice.

The new trailer, which you can check out above, also gives players a better look at Waddle Dee Village. The village is the game's hub and isn't a location you get the chance to visit during the three-level demo. As well as returning to the village to upgrade Kirby's copy abilities, there is also a colosseum where you can hone your skills against bosses, and a bunch of mini-games you'll be able to play between saving Waddle Dees from The Beast Pack.

Kirby and The Forgotten Land launches on Nintendo Switch later this month, at which point we will finally find out who can and can't be trusted this time around. King Dedede has received another makeover, and although it seems he will be a foe in The Forgotten Land, you never can tell. I also don't trust Elfilin. Kirby's new companion might seem cute, but something feels off.
