A trademark for "Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series" has been spotted in the UK, sparking rumours of a new remastered collection.

It's been more than 10 years since we last saw Klonoa, with his last game launching in 2008 for the Wii and being a remake of the first game in the series. It's been mostly quiet since then, but it's seeming like he may soon be making a return if some new trademarks are to be believed.

As reported by VGC, a trademark for Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series has been filed and appears on the UK's Intellectual Property Office. The trademark was reportedly filed on December 17 and is listed as belonging to Bandai Namco Japan in the listing. The listing has it filed under video games, which should get rid of any worries that it's some kind of TV show or merchandise.

Interestingly, a trademark was filed in September that is seemingly related to Klonoa. The trademark was filed in Japan for "Waffuu Encore" and "1&2 Encore". Encore is what Bandai Namco has been titling its remaster in Japan over the past few years and Waffuu is Klonoa's catchphrase, leading many to reasonably link the two together.

This isn't the first time something related to a Klonoa remaster has been spotted over the past few years. All the way back in 2019, trademarks were filed by Bandai Namco for Klonoa Encore, Mr Driller Encore, Splatterhouse Encore, and Genpei Touma Den Encore. Nothing came out of those trademarks at the time, but with the subsequent Klonoa trademark filings that have happened in the years since, it seems likely that we'll be seeing remasters soon.

As for what games are in the collection, it seems like it'll be Door to Phantomile and Lunatea's Veil, the first and second game respectively. Whether or not the first game will be the original PlayStation version or the Wii remake is unclear, but the use of "1&2 Encore" makes it clear what games are included.
