Following April Fools Day, Knockout City will be unveiling a cross-platform beta for players to jump in and jump around. How to describe this competitive multiplayer experience? Well, it's Fortnite with a dodgeball spin, essentially.

Rather than shooting up your foes, hiding in little cramped spaces with a sniper, shaking as you hope nobody breaks down the wall behind you to slap you up the behind with a rapid-fire shotgun, you'll be thrust into the arena with a ball to lob at your enemies which is an instant K.O. You can also turn into a ball?

It's coming from Velan Studios who, weirdly enough, developed Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. However, this isn't for Nintendo - it's for EA. At any rate, the April beta is bringing with it a new map: Back Alley Brawl, and a new 'weapon' type with the Sniper Ball. Okay, maybe you can hide in a room with a sniper then.

There's also a one-on-one face-off playlist coming, which will naturally let you play dodgeball with one other person. Things are being added to a game that isn't out yet I hear you say - well, it has run betas already, with a PC one going on just this weekend past. However, you can sign up for the upcoming April one on its website. If you have Steam or Origin on PC, a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, or an Xbox Series S/X, you are eligible to dive in and face off against everyone in that pool from any platform.
