Hideo Kojima has announced that he and Kojima Productions are working on a new Xbox console exclusive that will utilise the publisher's cloud-based technology for a never-before-seen type of game. While a release date and title weren't actually announced, we do know that Kojima is likely referring to Overdose, a new horror game that was leaked earlier this month. All eyes were on a potential Death Stranding 2 announcement before Summer Game Fest aired, but an unexpected leak from industry insider Tom Henderson revealed that Overdose was in production. A later tweet by Henderson revealed that Kojima Productions had allegedly asked him to take the leak down, adding more fuel to the already raging fire. We now know that the game is very likely to be an Xbox exclusive and that it will somehow implement cloud technology.Related: Hideo Kojima's Horror Game Has Been Years In The MakingWhile Kojima himself didn't mention anything about the game during his short appearance on the show, if it is Overdose he's referring to (which is very likely is), we know it's a horror game starring Death Stranding actress Margaret Qually. It's also reported to allow the player to choose between first-person and third-person perspectives and will be exclusive to Xbox consoles.

This was a pretty big announcement that Phil Spencer revealed at the back end of the show, but there were plenty of other big reveals over the course of the event. These included a further look at Starfield, a new gameplay trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong and the announcement that it will launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one, and the reveal that Persona 3, 4, and 5 will launch on Xbox consoles for the first time, starting with Persona 5 Royal later this year.
