Even though Alchemy isn’t the main thing you’ll do in this game, it’ll supplement your purchases, saving Silver while utilizing everything you collect. Here's how to unlock Alchemy so you can make the most out of it on your journey.

How To Unlock Alchemy

The player tries to fight a boss with a full party in Labyrinth Of Galleria: The Moon Society.

You won’t have access to Alchemy at the start of the game, so you’ll need to follow a few steps to unlock it.

The Task

How To Complete It

Collect the first Curios and get the Wall Breaker ability.

You’ll find the first Curios on the second floor. Go through the bottom-right staircase, and you'll find it straight ahead, surrounded by a pit. Once you get the first Curios, you’ll also unlock the Wall Breaker ability.

Find the Catalog Obscura.

Use the Wall Breaker ability to bust through the east wall when you first enter the dungeon.

Collect a Magicinal Herb and explore the dungeon.

You'll find the Magicinal Herb on B3 of Narthex. It's at the coordinates Blue 16 and Green 25. You'll need the Wall Breaker ability to reach it. Once you find the Medical Herb, you’ll need to find a mysterious character. Go to the third floor, and you’ll find a red event point in the bottom half of the dungeon. Once you get everything, you can select Witch Report to go through the cutscenes and move to the next step.

Collect an Iron Epitaph and explore the dungeon.

You’ll find an Iron Epitaph on B3 of Narthex as well, but at the Blue 12 and Green 15 coordinates. You will need Wall Breaker to get to it. This will get you the Cursed Bog Swimming ability. At this point, you’ll need to fall through the trap hole in the southern portion of the third floor. You’ll then head west through the north door, go through the following north door, and the item will be to the east. You’ll report to the Witch and get Alchemy.

Your Alchemy Options

The player looks through their alchemy options in Labyrinth Of Galleria: The Moon Society.

As you look into Alchemy, you’ll have three options you can work with to cover your needs.

Each Alchemy option requires you to use Mana or Silver. For instance, Synthesis and Remove Seal cost Mana to do, while Disassembly costs Silver to activate, though you get Mana out of it.

What you put into it lets you gain more than you would lose, making the exchange worth it. With that in mind, you'll want to use Alchemy frequently to save money elsewhere.

Action

What It Does

Why You Should Use It

Synthesis

You can combine items to strengthen your weapon or armor. You get to choose the item, three weapons to boost it, and add a catalyst for additional effects.

You can strengthen any of your weapons and equipment. Since the game will throw tons of extra equipment at you, strengthening weapons will be easier than hoping you find them.

Disassembly

You can take apart items, equipment, and other collectibles to turn them into Mana. You’ll need to use Disassembly Fluid.

Alchemy uses Mana. While you use this for Witch’s Petitions, you need to get more of it. If you don’t feel like going back into the dungeon, you can quickly turn items into Mana for any assembly or unsealing you want to use.

Remove Seal

You can unseal a weapon to see its current strength.

Some unsealed weapons will be stronger than your current weapons. Otherwise, you can still use the weapons for assembly to improve your weapons.

Tips And Tricks For Using Alchemy

The player tries synthesis and wants to empower their weapons in Labyrinth Of Galleria: The Moon Society.Prioritize Mana Over Silver

You’ll use Silver for items, but you can quickly build Silver by selling different items and loot. You'll find yourself with a surplus of Silver after a while, especially if you farm for items in the dungeon.

If you want to prioritize Mana, ensure you focus on Silver early on. Doing so will help you cover your Alchemy needs, but if you ever run low on Silver, you can always sell loot to build it back up to help you with Alchemy. If you want to dismantle anything, you'll need to spend 320 Silver per item, so you should aim for a surplus of 10,000 or so Silver.

You can exchange Silver for Mana, but not the other way around, so you'll want to prioritize Mana once you build up savings.

Only Assemble If You Can Fill Every Slot

As you assemble weapons and improve them, you'll have five slots to work with:

  • The first is the weapon you want to upgrade.
  • The second, third, and fourth slots are for the weapons you'll sacrifice to empower the first.
  • The last one is a catalyst to upgrade your weapon further based on stat augments, such as increasing the strength by a percentage or adding additional resistance to armor.

Since you'll sacrifice three weapons and a catalyst to create it, you should only perform Synthesis if you can fill all the slots. Otherwise, you'll waste resources and time, and not make your weapons and armor as powerful as possible. Also, some weapons can't be used, so double-check that information before you try.

You also don't need to use the same weapon type while you perform Alchemy. For instance, if you plan to empower a sword, you don't need to use three swords to make it stronger.

You can use the table on the side to see how the combinations will impact your weapon. That way, you'll learn what works best, and can try different alchemy combinations to see what'll give you the most significant boost.

Only Disassemble Expensive Items

You can disassemble most weapons and items to turn them into Mana. Some will only give you ten or so Mana, while others will give you more, sometimes into the thousands of Mana. While it may sound appealing to disassemble items, loot, or weapons if you run low on Mana, you must remain careful with what you disassemble.

To put this into perspective, you may get ten Mana by disassembling them, but any time you want to disassemble something, you must spend 320 Silver per item. That means the more Mana you get from a weapon, the more value you're getting.

You can get hundreds of Mana from Mana points in the dungeons, making such exchanges not worth it.

With that in mind, you should only exchange items of at least 300 Mana if you decide to disassemble them. However, you can do a few less-expensive items in a pinch, such as when you barely have enough Mana to complete an action but don't want to return to the dungeon.

Unseal Everything

As you play through the game, you'll come across sealed weapons. You can immediately equip them to someone, but doing so will weaken the weapon. Instead, you should perform Remove Seal on the weapon to find out what it offers. Doing so will not only show you the weapon's stats, but let you benefit from the original stats for it.

Even if you don't use the weapon, you still want to unseal it. That way, you get the most out of it if you Synthesize it into another weapon or try to sell it. Selling a sealed weapon won't give you as much value as an unsealed one. With that in mind, the Mana you use makes the additional value worth it.
