10 When Dina Singlehandedly Gathers Information About Abby's People's Whereabouts

After Dina reveals that she's been pregnant with Jesse's baby this whole time, Ellie feels sorry and upset for taking Dina on her dangerous quest for revenge. Then, the two head back to their base at the theater, where Dina eventually vomits uncontrollably and falls ill.

Dina insists on continuing the journey with Ellie, but instead, Ellie wants her to stay at their base to locate the remaining members of Abby's people. If it wasn't for Dina doing so, the journey would have taken too long, and Abby would probably join Isaac's invasion at the Seraphites island and die there before reuniting with Ellie.

9 When Dina Stitches Ellie's Wounds

The world that Ellie paints is quite dangerous, and sometimes, it sucks up people she loves into uneasy & cold territories. After one journey, Ellie gets back home with an open wound on her upper arm. Lucky for her, Dina is always there to snitch it up and help her prepare for the next person to come after.

8 When Dina Rushes to Ellie After Abby's Friends Knocked Her Out

After Joel and Tommy reportedly go missing from the usual patrol, Ellie goes for miles searching for the two Miller brothers. When she finds out, spoiler alert, Joel is already on the verge of his death from Abby's golf club. She does her best to make them let go of him, but the inevitable happens.

Shocked from his father-figure's death, Ellie hysterically screams and cries, and brutally gets beaten, much until she falls unconscious. Later, Dina shows up to save the day once again, rushing to save Ellie. Unfortunately, Abby's people are not around when Dina gets to the basement.

7 When Dina Asks Ellie to Dance With Her

Remember when life was good at Jackson? Back in the days, after breaking up from Cat, who gave her the iconic tattoo, Ellie was just a 'good' friend with Dina, but she secretly had feelings for her. During the celebration party at the village, Ellie bumped into Dina's ex, Jesse, while talking about how jealous Jesse was of Dina stealing the show at the party.

Then, Dina came to Ellie to ask her for a dance. Ellie, not knowing her intentions, played along with her, and eventually shared a sweet '6-rated' kiss on the dance floor.

6 When Dina Does Her Best to Prevent Ellie from Confronting Seth at the Party

Everything was sweet at the party until the bigot cook, Seth, showed up and scolded them, telling them that 'this is a family event.' After that's said and done, the two went away from his sight, only for him to make a homophobic remark and called them the-D slur.

Ellie was so tempted to kick him in the face and taste his own medicine, and Dina tried her best to stop her. That, before Joel showed up to confront Seth and protect his estranged 'baby girl.'

5 When Dina Gives Ellie Her 'Lucky' Bracelet

While Ellie is an atheist who 'doesn't believe in luck,' Dina is a devout Jew who relies on prayers to get her through the apocalyptic years. On one of the scenes before departing the theater, Dina gives Ellie her bracelet, hoping to guide her and bring her luck. According to the Jewish belief, it's a hamsa bracelet. It does bring good luck and turn away bad luck. Later on the game, the bracelet serves as one of the critical moments during the ending, which led many fans to theorize an alternate ending.

4 When Dina Rushes to the Barn to Comfort Ellie from Her PTSD

Escaping the past, like Joel once said, is impossible. Joel's death keeps haunting Ellie, even after her, Dina, and JJ resettle to the farmhouse, far away from Jackson, and start a new life.

When Ellie and JJ head into the barn, the tragic imagery of Joel's death under Abby's golf club haunts Ellie once again, causing her to scream uncontrollably. Worried, Dina rushes to the barn to calm things down, only to learn in a couple of days that it led Ellie, once again, to try to find Abby on another quest of revenge.

3 When Dina Saves Ellie from Jordan

At one point on her odyssey, Ellie reunited with Jordan, Abby's friend, who prevented her from protecting Joel when Ellie got into the basement. Jordan captures Ellie, ties her to a chair, and threatens her by pulling out a knife on her neck, but Ellie still insists on hunting Abby down.

Then, out of nowhere, Dina shows up from the top of the room, shooting her way in while killing Jordan's friend before the glass breaks and pulls her down. To think that she did all that while pregnant is more than uncomfortable.

2 When Dina, Theoretically, Settles Back at Jackson With JJ In Ellie's Absence

So, after everything they've been through, did Dina really decide to back to Jackson with JJ and abandon Ellie? After one final showdown where Ellie decides to, spoiler alert, spare Abby, and set her free, Ellie (minus her two fingers) gets back to the farmhouse and finds out that Dina and JJ are not there anymore.

The first thing fans theorize is that Dina and JJ head back to Jackson because Dina had done her best to prevent Ellie from coming after Abby. Maybe she's had enough of Ellie?

1 Or, Did She?

Or, maybe not? Ellie might have lost two fingers, but she appears to wear Dina's bracelet and doesn't even seem too surprised when she finds nobody at home.

These tiny little details lead many fans to believe that Dina, Ellie, and JJ had actually gone back to Jackson, hence the bracelet. Ellie heads back to the farmhouse to get Joel's guitar, but after a flashback of the last night of his life, Ellie decides not to retake the guitar as a symbolization of giving up the idea of revenge and letting Joel go. There are no official words from Naughty Dog at this time, and we can only find out if Part III or a DLC is happening.
