A photo from the set of The Last Of Us has offered up the best look of Pedro Pascal as Joel that we've seen so far.

Production on HBO's The Last Of Us is well and truly in full swing at this point. Filming is currently underway in Alberta, Canada and is set to wrap in 2022 with the show debuting on HBO later that same year if all goes to plan. While there has only been one official photo from the show released, filming in such a public place continues to lead to sneak peeks leaking out every now and again.

The latest photo comes courtesy of Kristin Raworth on Twitter. While most of the leaked images have shown how the streets of Alberta have been made to look like TLOU's post-apocalyptic world, the snap below features Pedro Pascal. Pascal is playing Joel and the photo offers up the best look at The Mandalorian star in the lead role that we have seen so far.

Even though a lot of Pascal's face is obscured by a mask as the photo was snapped while he was off-camera, it's plain to see that he and those running the show have nailed the Joel look. Fans of the games appeared to be united in believing Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who will play Ellie on the show, were the right picks for the roles after seeing the aforementioned official photo released on The Last Of Us Day.

The show is the first to come from the new PlayStation Productions studio which will be responsible for transforming PlayStation games into movies and TV shows. Suffice to say, everyone involved is putting their utmost into making sure this first venture is a success. It has been rumored that each episode, of which there will be ten in season one, has a budget of more than $10 million.

There's also big news on the horizon for TLOU's video game universe. While you might have a wait on your hands for The Last Of Us Part 3, Part 2's Factions should be coming relatively soon. Those waiting for the multiplayer follow-up to the sequel were expecting a big announcement last month. However, Naughty Dog simply revealed that it's not ready yet.
