The Last of Us Part II released to nearly universal acclaim upon its release on June 19th, 2020. The massive campaign takes players anywhere between twenty to thirty hours to complete, depending on how much time one uses exploring the immaculately detailed environments.

However, even those who went through The Last Of Us Part II with a fine-tooth comb may have missed a couple of the hidden areas below. Some of these are touching narrative moments, while others are nuanced details or collectibles. While they help flesh out the characters and supply the player with resources, the main story is still wholly enjoyable and coherent if Ellie or Abby skip these.

10 Strange Artifact

Somewhat of a tradition for Naughty Dog, players can find a Precursor Orb from Jak and Daxter hidden in Seattle. During Abby's day one, enter a store called Red Dragon and head up the stairs.

Then, cross a gap into another building and take another left. One of the rooms contains the relic from the prior Naughty Dog series. Fans are hoping the two characters have a bigger presence in the future besides an easter egg.

9 Bank

Downtown Seattle is an open area with numerous optional locations. One of these is a bank, which players can find on the south side near the middle of the map.

Inside are several useful goodies, including a shotgun and a collectible calling back to the Uncharted franchise. The skeletons lying about are from a bank robbery gone wrong some fools tried to pull off on outbreak day.

8 Lounge Door Soda Can

While in the Seattle subway, players enter a room for workers where a door is locked with a number code. A note nearby hints that a code will be given if one buys a soda.

Fortunately, Ellie does not have to pay any money. Instead, she breaks the vending machine and reads part of the code from a not attached to the soda. Only three of the five numbers are given, but the code does not repeat digits, so deducing the combination is simple.

7 Hotel Safe

While venturing through a hotel with Lev, players come across a recreation room complete with a gym. A note details a safe location and says the combination is the wifi code.

The safe is past the weights on the left side of the room, while the wifi code is on the other side of the room written on a whiteboard. While the wifi most certainly no longer functions, at least the code for the safe still works.

6 Truck In Downtown Seattle

Part of the open downtown Seattle area is a broken down freeway with trucks scattered about. By the Northside of it is one filled with skeletons and supplies.

Several notes beforehand talk of an ambush the WLF execute on FEDRA. Further south in the area is also a bunch of supplies on rocks players must descend onto by using a rope on a broken part of the freeway.

5 Mirror In The Museum

One of the most touching moments in the story sees Joel taking Ellie to a museum for her birthday. While exploring, looking dinosaur bones, and trying on hats, Ellie can find a room with a bathroom with a mirror on the first floor of the exhibit featuring the fossils

While looking into the mirror, players control Ellie's facial expressions. Savor this moment, because the story proceeds to become darker and more oppressive from here on out.

4 Auto Shop

Off of the main street in Hillcrest during the beginning of Ellie's day two is an auto repair shop whose door is blocked by a dumpster. Moving the garbage receptor is the simple part, it is dealing with the hordes of infected inside the enclosed space which is more challenging.

A Molotov cocktail should dispose of most of them, however, giving Ellie easy access to the safe whose combination is 30 82 65.

3 Pet Store

Finding the entrance to the pet store in an alley by the music shop near the starting point of downtown Seattle is simple, but finding the key to open the door is a little trickier.

The key is in Ruston Coffee near the north part of the map in a bathroom. Along with the goodies from both locations are a series of conversations about Joel's love of coffee and Ellie's attitude towards pets.

2 Boat Safe

On the ferry where Abby finds the crossbow is a safe waiting at the control room near the end of the area. A note relays the location early on in the area, but players have to maneuver through the insides before reaching it.

The code is 90 77 01, which one will find on a note. Considering the amount of infected on the vehicle, players probably want to leave the boat as soon as possible.

1 Music Shop Upstairs

The music shop is one of the closest locations when starting out in the open Seattle area. Go inside for some fun dialogue between Ellie and Dina where the latter attempts to play some drums.

A room upstairs contains a guitar and going inside prompts a scene where Ellie serenades Dina with a cover of A-ha's "Take on Me." It is surprising to see this song live on twenty years after society's collapse.
