Xayah is a marksman in League Of Legends: Wild Rift with a propensity for knife-based destruction. Perfectly capable of dealing with single-target and devastating AOE damage, Xayah can be played in multiple ways and support multiple teams. The trade-off? Difficulty.
Xayah is a fairly complex character to grasp, even in her simplified “Wild Rift” state. Being a Marksman, Xayah needs to provide the damage crux of your team, with “team” being the key word. Xayah can’t operate by herself, and needs to work with her allies to shine - as is the case with most Champions.
Before we dive into Xayah, it’s worth noting that Xayah works best in a Duo Lane. This means she needs to work well with her Support to achieve success. She is especially effective when working with Rakan.

Passive/Active Skills
Clean Cuts (Passive) |
After using an ability, Xayah’s next three attacks will hit all enemies along their path and drop Feathers. Additionally, Xayah and Rakan can join each other’s recall, returning to the Summoning Platform in sync. |
---|---|
Double Daggers |
Xayah throws two daggers, dealing less damage if both hit the same target. This ability also drops two Feathers. |
Deadly Plumage |
Gain a bonus to Attack Speed and Attack Damage for 4 seconds. In addition, gain bonus Movement Speed if Deadly Plumage hits an enemy Champion. Rakan will also gain the benefits of Deadly Plumage. |
Bladecaller |
All Feathers will be recalled to Xayah, dealing damage and rooting enemies if they are struck with three or more Feathers. Minions take reduced damage. |
Featherstorm (Ultimate Skill) |
Xayah jumps into the air and launches a fan of daggers whilst being unforgettable. This attack leaves behind a line of Feathers |
What Attacks To Charge First
- Firstly, you want to start with Double Daggers. This attack will give you a decent amount of burst poke, giving you more presence in lane. It will also set you up for later synergies with Feathers.
- Next, you want to consider picking up Deadly Plumage. This skill is a nice steroid that will allow you to farm creeps easier, whilst also allowing you to trade with the enemy duo favourably. This is doubly true since Rakan (providing he is nearby) will also gain the buff.
- Lastly, you want to pick up Bladecaller. Bladecaller can deal great damage if you position your enemy between you and your Feathers, and the Root can lead to some early kills if you can land the triple hit.
- For maxing out purposes, you want to push Double Dagger first, before moving onto Deadly Plumage and then Bladecaller.
- You will want to prioritise Featherstorm above everything else as this is your Ultimate Skill.
- Since the greatest draw to Bladecaller is the Root, you don’t necessarily need to level this as a priority. If you want a bit more bust damage, then getting this maxed before Deadly Plumage is an option.
Learning About Item Loadouts
AOE Marksman
Xayah’s passive is critical to her playstyle in many ways, but for this build, the main draw is taking advantage of her AOE potential. This doesn’t diminish her single target potential, of course, it just allows her to farm and deal with team fights more effectively.
Blade Of The Ruined King |
Xayah gains Attack Damage and Attack Speed - two vital stats for any Marksman. In addition, she gains bonus damage on her Attacks, Vamp, burst damage, and Movement Speed drain. Excellent item. |
---|---|
Runaan's Hurricane |
Runaan’s is excellent on Xayah as it gives her, even more, AOE damage via Wind Fury, and increases her Attack Speed and Crit Rate. It doesn’t increase her damage, however. |
Gluttonous Quicksilver |
Xayah gains a bonus Physical and Magic Vamp, as well as Movement speed. Can be activated to clear CC and gain resistance to Slow. |
Infinity Edge |
Infinity Edge increases Xayah’s Crit Rate and Attack Damage whilst also massively increasing her Crit Damage. This triggers Runaan’s Hurricane in addition to her standard AOE attacks, boosting her damage substantially. |
Rapid Firecannon |
Another substantial boost to both Crit Rate and Attack Speed, pushing Xayah to a 75% Crit Rate. Rapid Firecannon boosts Movement Speed and provides additional burst damage thanks to the Sharpshooter and Energised passive. |
Mortal Reminder |
Mortal Reminder is straight damage. It provides a decent chunk of Attack Damage, gives a bonus to Armour Penetration, and applies Grievous Wounds, making healing far less effective. |
Crit Marksman
This is Xayah’s alternate default loadout, and it trades in some AOE damage synergy for greater damage via Crits. Not that the previous build lacked Crit, of course.
Essence Reaver |
Essence Reaver is excellent. It provides bonuses to Attack Damage, Crit Rate, and Haste, as well as dealing additional damage whenever Xayah attacks an enemy with an ability or empowered attack. Both of these things are near constant with Xayah. |
---|---|
Solari Charge Blade |
Another pip of Crit Chance brings Xayah to 50%. This item also increases Haste and Attack Speed to boot. The Sunburst Passive adds additional damage on hit. |
Gluttonous Quicksilver |
Xayah gains a bonus Physical and Magic Vamp, as well as Movement speed. Can be activated to clear CC and gain resistance to Slow. |
Navori Quickblades |
The final Crit Rate boost brings Xayah to 75% in addition to Attack Damage and Haste buffs. This item also grants Deft Strikes, reducing ability cooldowns for every Crit landed. |
Blade Of The Ruined King |
Xayah gains Attack Damage and Attack Speed - two vital stats for any Marksman. In addition, she gains bonus damage on her Attacks, Vamp, burst damage, and Movement Speed drain. Excellent item. |
Serylda’a Grudge |
Xayah gains bonus Attack Damage and Haste, whilst also gaining Armour Penetration and an on-hit Slow effect on all of her abilities and empowered attacks. |
Quick Note About Spells
Heal your first spell should be Heal as this will give you a quick burst of Health and Movement Speed. This can not only keep you in lane longer, but it could save your life and prevent a successful gank from the Jungle.
Flash is the quintessential escape spell. It has so much utility it is difficult not to take. You can use this to engage, chase, escape, and even dodge. It’s a phenomenal spell.
