League of Legends has some pretty interesting and unique skins on offer - but how much would you be willing to spend to make your champion look cooler? One user claims to have surpassed the $5,500 mark after purchasing the new Dragonslayer line, bringing his total to 1,002 skins - not all of which have been used.

In a Reddit post, user u/Dillman926 says they're a big collector of everything pertaining to their hobbies, which for League of Legends means they own all of the available skins. Their favorite skin line is High Noon, in which they say Ashe and Lucian look best but Thresh isn't too bad either, while their favorite particular skin is True Damage Ekko, as Ekko is also one of their favorites. This one was released very recently, in November 2019 - but the user also points out that it is hard to pick out a single favorite.

However, not all skins that exist in the game are available for purchase. For example, Victorious is a skin line where a new skin is available only once a year, at the end of the season, as a gift to all players that have reached Gold or higher in ranked games. For u/Dillman926 that means they don't have any of these from before they reached the rank: Jarvan IV, Janna, Elise, and Morgana. They add that the skins they do own - Sivir, Aatrox, Maokai, and Graves - already have some other nice-looking skins, which is not the case for the likes of Elise and Morgana. What remains is Victorious Orianna; the user does not have a comment on her, but presumably she's not all that bad, considering she is also often overlooked by Riot when they're publishing new skins.

Their most special skin is PAX Twisted Fate - one of the most sought after skins, released in 2009 only to a handful of PAX attendees. Some of the attendees decided to sell their codes, so the skin went for upwards of $450 at a point. This user, however, received the skin because Riot simply had nothing else to give them during the LoL Anniversary event in 2019. The same happens to them when rerolling skin shards: they get rare Gemstone and Prestige skins because there's just nothing else they can get.

If you think you should follow in their footsteps, be prepared to shell out some serious cash. While the $5,500 amount may not look like much in bulk - which heavily depends on how much money you do have IRL - simply realizing that a cosmetic improvement that does not affect your gameplay for a single champion can cost more than €20 in Riot Points on the EU West server (for DJ Sona, Elementalist Lux, Pulsefire Ezreal, and Spirit Guard Udyr) is enough to make your head spin. Then there's the Prestige line: at 100 Prestige points per skin, which you can't buy on their own but instead have to pay for other bundles, the cost climbs upwards of $100.

Still think it's worth it? Knock yourself out! And have fun with that second mortgage.
